Sizeing scans help

I am 26 weeks gone with my 3 baby and have been told I need to go for a sizing scan. I have no problems with any of the tests I have had but am 3 weeks bigger that I should be. I always measured bigger with my first to but was never sent for more scans, Should I be worried, I tried to talk to my consultant but I find her very rude and unhelpful. If anyone has any thoughts it would be great.

I think they may want to check you don't have gestational diabetes. I had a sizing scan at 29 weeks due to measuring 3 weeks ahead but the sonographer said the baby was fine, just at the higher end of the centile charts.

They seem pretty hot on the gestational diabetes thing at the moment, and if your baby is getting bigger for this reason, it is better to know and it is an easily manageable condition.

However, I reckon the most likely outcome is that you are just measuring a little big for dates right now and that it will even out.

I'm measuring five weeks ahead ATM and have a growth scan on Friday (33 weeks), I've already been tested for diabetes but my son was a bit of a chunky monkey so they're just keeping an eye on me to make sure I don't reach term and have problems delivering a large baby.

I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, but scans are an easy way to pick up on any concerns, and you get another look at your baby!
