Is driving me mad. Is literally all day and I'm also really battling with food. The only thing I can eat / drink at the mo is milk. Anything else makes me feel really sick. Any tips? I've tried eating rich tea biccies, and at first that helped but now they just make me feel sick. It's so exhausting! Happy to be pregnant and can't wait for baby but not sure how much more of this I can take!! I'm only 7 weeks!! X

Bless you, that sounds awful. I spoke to soon about my love for milk. Was just very sick with milk. There is now nothing I want to eat or drink!

I'm sick most days but I tend to find crisps and coke are what gets me up! My mw says it's fine for now as I'm only 11 weeks, but I'd love healthy food!

I've been battling this too and it's horrible. I'm 11+6 today and have felt slightly better for the last week, although still chucking up most days the nausea is getting less.

Tips from me, although no cure I'm afriad:

  • don't let yourself get to hungry mine is always worse on an empty stomach. Eat little and often if you cant manage big meals.
  • keep hydrated
  • plain crackers, crisps, cereal and fruit worked for me.
  • sleep sleep sleep, my nausea much worse when tired!
  • travel sickness bands (ebay for cheap ones)

magnum ice creams are amazing if you have constant sickness!!

Waaaaa. Me too. Hardly been sick at all, but feel sick all the time. Third pregnancy and nothing like this before. I'm nine and a bit weeks now and it's worse than ever. I really wanted pancakes earlier, but we have no kitchen at the minute and couldn't find any microwave ones.

Nothing is tempting me. Nothing. I ate four hot dog sausages earlier, which helped for about five minutes and now I feel sick again. Mouth watering all the time.

Ok, I'll stop complaining now. Nobody IRL wants to listen to me moan either.

Ah I'm happy to listen to you moan! I feel the same. Driving the hubby mad!! I love food and having an aversion to everything is frustrating. I really hope this doesn't last the whole 9 months.

After seeing magnum though I really do fancy one of those :) thank you!

I ordered some travel sickness bands today. Fingers crossed they ease things!

Diet coke!! It's the only thing that got me through at first. I'm 29 weeks and still have the nausea every day. I can just handle it better as I've tried everything now and know what I can manage to keep down!
Hope yours subsides soon xxx

Try tangy food - anything with loads of tomatoes. It is appetising & relieves nausea. Am eating an orange overt couple of hours & that's helping too.

Couple of tried & tested tricks that may or may not work depending on your luck!

  1. Start the day with a tangy fruit - orange or apple. After that nothing for 15 mins and then usual food (tangier the better!)

This apparently stabilises blood sugar or something which then helps the nausea (but could be totally wrong! Grin)
  1. Ginger root tablets from Holland& Barrets. Just started them & they are taking the edge off but not completely eliminating the nausea.

I just live with a general sick feeling all day long along with hunger, meals, smells and feeling like am about to burst!

Hope something here works for you...

I'm 12 weeks and have struggled so much to. What helps me is lemon, lime orange, mango. I agree with SwimmingMom anything tangy! Also very cold, I have sparkling water with lots of ice and a bit or lemon or orange juice. That helps! :)

Usually it peaks at around 8 weeks. Fingers crossed it starts improving soon.

I am 9+5 and just beginning to feel a little better.

I hope so weebairn. Am starting to make myself eat more which I think is helping too.

Am 8+2 and today I have been blue in the face with nausea. Absolute sick maddening feeling. I've not been able to work though the objective was to work from home! I agree that eating more helps (for some time).
Weebairn - am so hoping you are right. Can't take this for very much longer.

Kels - I have to report that the constant eating is working! The nausea is there but so much controlled. Thanks a ton!

For me that 7th week was the worst! I'm now 9+6 and I still feel nauseous all day, but I can actually walk around a supermarket now and pick up a few things. Before it was unbearable, I'd walk around, and walk out empty handed as there wasn't anything I wanted!
Flavoured sparkling water is nice. The easiest things to eat I think are soft white bread and crisps. Jacket potato went down quite well. I'm normally so healthy, and never eat any rubbish, but I've even driven a detour past Macdonalds to get fries twice on the way home from work! This is someone who had probably only ever had 1 macdonald meal in her whole life! I'm now in a phase where I'm really really enjoying fruit juices. Today I went out for a pub lunch, and really fancied fish and chips - that was a huge mistake! The bloating and pain is still there! Nothing wants to digest!!

Keep a pack of rich tea by your bed and eat one the moment you wake up!

My mum said to just accept you're going to be sick but make sure you're at least throwing up bland foods and not just wrechting all day. Sad just keep going with the biccys.

Also full fat flat coke gives you a good boost, or a really milky and super sugary hot chocolate helps line your tummy and give you some sugar

The anti-sickness tablets are great, but they knock you out silly, only started them at 36wks because I couldn't afford to be 'not with it'

  • I have a wealth of pregnancy sickness experience. Hmm

Good luck Thanks
