Pregnancy

Hardly any symptoms! Is this normal?

I'm 6 weeks 5 days according to my last AF (though my cycles are longer than average so I'm not sure I am really that far on...) and the only symptom I've had has been rock hard boobs for the past 4/5 weeks and I've started getting the odd wee cramps in my tummy which I can only assume is the womb expanding? I've had no nausea, no food/smell aversions, only the odd headache. I have been suffering from anxiety the last few days (non related to pregnancy) and was wondering if it's common for that to delay symptoms? Maybe I'm just lucky and they haven't hit me yet but it's still worrying nonetheless! Has anyone else had similar experiences?

I'm nearly 23 weeks and only for the bump (which has only appeared in the last 2 weeks incidentally) and lack of periods, i would not know i was pregnant. Never got any symptoms at all (thankfully!)
FYI though the nausea tends to only strike at 6/7 weeks anyway, you might get it yet! Congrats!

I'm 14+6 currently...when i went to the doctor after getting my BFP, think i was about 5+3, she said that a lot of women get morning sickness (and i'm talking nausea, not actual sickness which is rarer) around week 7. For me, that was xmas week. Fair enough, nausea started then which was constant for about 3 weeks. It's much better now.
Up until week 7, i didn't feel any different whatsoever. Judging from posts on here, i think that's pretty common. Enjoy feeling good!

I wish I could but I'm just sooo drained, I have no appetite and it really does feel like AF is about to arrive! I know those symptoms are common in early pregnancy though, it makes me even more confused about trying to work out dates though! I take it you can't always go on date from when last AF started if you have a 40+ day cycle? I reckon I'm maybe only 4-5 weeks, not almost 7!

It's prob more coz I'm stressing myself out and not sleeping well though, I'd love to believe it was a baby related symptom but think I'm doing it to myself! Been trying to get a doc appt all week as I def need help figuring out how far I really am! If it is just delayed symptoms, I hope that doesn't mean they'll last longer :o

Hi tinaw, lots and lots of people don't get any/many symptoms. My sister is currently 20 weeks into a symptomless pregnancy. She was really worried at the start because she had suffered from terrible morning sickness in her previous pregnancy. Some people are just lucky and don't have many symptoms.

I had no symptoms at all, as I wasn't even 'trying' to get pregnant I didn't even realise I was pregnant for 10 weeks (was of menopausal age so just assumed my periods were stopping Grin).

Not everyone has 'symptons'.

I'm currently 28+3 and I had no symptoms at all. I only went to the doctors because my period was late which had never happened before and I was always very regular. It was a planned pregnancy so obviously I suspected I was pregnant. But I got no nausea or sickness, no increased appetite or anything else. I did start feeling extra sleepy on an afternoon when I was about 10-14 weeks, but that was it. If it hadn't been for such clear scan pictures and an ever expanding tummy I still wouldn't believe I was pregnant.

My advice would be to enjoy a symptom free pregnancy and hope it lasts all the way through because some people I know have suffered horribly and every time I see them I realise how lucky I am and thank my lucky stars! Also, don't take what the doctor says as set in stone...my due date got moved forward a week from what my doctor said after I had my dating scan.

Ive had conflicting due dates ranging from the 9th - 17th oct so I suppose only the dating scan will advise for real! I suppose the advantage I do have is poss getting a scan early as if according to my LMP I'm almost 7 weeks then I should be getting my scan in next 3-5 weeks, even if I am in fact only 5 weeks :)

I'd forgotten until I read ragwort's post that my SIL also had no idea she was pregnant until she was 8 or 9 weeks because of irregular periods and a complete lack of symptoms. Her 3 year old is pretty hard to ignore these days though :-).

Yes, hopefully the lack of certainty re dates will get you an extra scan!

It's weird that I'd rather feel ill than normal! It just gives you a bit more peace of mind though I reckon! I still feel like I'm getting constant period pains with a sore tummy and back! Managed to make a doc appt for Tues morning but doubt they'll help much til I get my 12wk appt with the midwife anyway!

Also is it normal to have absolutely no appetite in early stages? I only eat when I get dizzy at the moment, but I don't want to eat anything! It's not that the thought of food makes me nauseous, I just don't feel like eating!

I had no symptoms at 7 weeks but dont worry Ive felt like Ive been on a cruise ship in high seas, with someone battering me over the head, for the past few months.
It may catch up with you, Id be touching a lot of wood if I was you (that sounds rude a bit rude)

It is completely normal not to have an appetite. That in itself is a symptom. I hope the dr is able to reassure you a bit at your appointment. Everything you've said sounds completely normal.

Yeah that makes more sense but unfortunately I can't work it out at all as my cycle was so irregular the last few months so I don't know if it had fallen back to its normal 34 days or was still being funny! Too hard to tell...

I have had very few symptoms too, and have found it quite worrying, so much so that we had a private scan on Friday at 8 weeks. I was sick on Saturday once, and that has been the only bit of sickness I've had. I had sore boobs for 2 weeks around weeks 5-6, and have been a little bit tired and extremely hungry (but I am quite greedy anyway), but other than that (and occasional stretching pains), I would never know.

Baby is fine, saw a little heartbeat and it is measuring spot on for its dates! But I know how you feel that you would almost rather feel ill (although I'm sure that everyone suffering wouldn't agree!).

Hx

I hope I won't have to get a private scan, will try & talk my midwife into allowing me an early scan due to the uncertainty of my dates! I'm getting conflicting dates of two weeks difference! I have had sore boobs, exhaustion, little appetite and freezing cold body temps so I hope these are normal symptoms enough to not need nausea too!
