12 week scan, bloods and checking immunity to slapped cheek...

I have already posted this in my antenatal thread but thought the general pregnancy board may have more answers so here goes:

Weird question which I'm sure none knows the answer to but... I was considering asking if when they do my bloods at the scan they could also check my immunity to slap cheek...only because the childminders at the toddler group I help run mentioned it's going around at the moment (no kids at the club so no risk at the moment!) just thought if it's in my area my dd or me may come into contact with it and would be good to know if I'm immune and don't have to worry or not immune and need to be more aware/avoid if any of their kids get it. What do you think? Do you think they'll think I'm overthinking or that they can't even do it there anyway? Any experience?! thanks in advance!!

Its always worth asking. I work with children and came into contact with it while pg, then it took 2 weeks for the results to come back. I was immune, most adults are and if you work with children you are very likely to be as you've probably had it and didn't even know!

So ask, but try not to worry.

I got mine checked and would have checked chickenpox status too except I already know I'm immune. No harm if you're working with kids!
