What have you loved about being pregnant?

Okay- I'm not denying that some of it's tough- I'm 40 weeks tomorrow and each day is getting harder and harder...

But I have loved being pregnant! So just to break the mould- what have you enjoyed about your pregnancies?

I love feeling him kicking and knowing I'm keeping him all warm and safe wherever I go.

I love that I can eat as much cake and biscuits as I like and I don't feel guilty.

I love getting smiled at by strangers in the street.

Anyone else?

I love the kicking and the constant reasonably low-maintenance company.

I also love the excitement although am not generally v good at enjoying anticipation!

I loved getting to see baby at our first scan and so looking forward to seeing them again in 2 weeks (18 weeks pregnant and still very sick so everything else is hard work!)

Loving the kicking too although Im only 22+3 so it's very bubbly and gentle right now. i may change my mind in another 10 weeks time.

I love the immense joy i feel at scans, seeing my gorgeous boy kicking and moving about.

I love the moments with my dh where we lay and talk to my bump and talk about all the lovely things we're going to do when he's here.

Finally i love the happiness and excitement my pregnancy has brought the entire family. my parents are overjoyed and my grandma. It's such a lovely time for us all planning for his arrival and buying baby gros and things. Having your child inside you is the most incredible experience and i am treasuring every minute x

You know what? my pregnancy has been a nightmare of crap and tests and bad news.
BUT, its also been amazing. The support ive had has been immense and uplifting. I've made new friends here, I've learnt new stuff and the kindness of random people has been wonderful.
I love that everyone has to rub my bump and ask how she is, that everyone is so protective of her, and how my entire family including my fantastic teenagers have rallied round in support.
And I love that I'm having a gorgeous little girl, who kicks me in the ribs and does star jumps at bedtime and wakes with a start when the alarm goes off!
And I really love when dp snuggles up and feels her mad movements and smiles. Smile

Kicking, seeing the baby at scans and generally excitement and anticipation of expecting our first baby.

Everything else is shit! Boring maternity clothes, tiredness, heartburn, piles, rib pain, never being comfy in bed, worry and stress - need I go on!

Well I gave birth yesterday morning & I miss my lovely big belly & feeling the baby move inside me. I love the fact I have curves & bumps for a few months!

I've spent nearly the last 14 months pregnant as I had a MMC after 1 period was pregnant again.

This is my my 6th dc!

I'm only 21w so I'm sure I've got more lovely bits to come.

So far I've loved how happy the news has made both sets of our parents and our friends.

I'm really looking forward to the first time DH feels baby kick. I do like it when baby kicks so I know it's ok but I want to share it.

I've had a pretty rough pregnancy. The only thing i've enjoyed is seeing DH's face when we found out we are having a boy (due next friday -eeek)

I have always felt self conscious about my body, but pregnancy makes me feel proud of my body and enjoy people looking at it.

I love everything about being pregnant.

I loved being able to feel her wriggling around, and all the kicks and headbuts! DD was breech and every night when I had my bath she would stick her head right out, from just under my ribs. That feeling that only I could feel all her movements, DH could feel her kicks too of course. That she was safe and happy inside me. And that after six early miscarriages my body could actually do this.

Having had a very rough road getting here I love knowing that we have made it this far together and are now halfway there (20 weeks).
Very recently started feeling movements and it just feels amazing.
Love that every single day our DS1 who is 6 years old hugs or rubs my belly and asks "how is the baby" and talks about all the things he is going to show or teach the baby when it arrives.
Love all the fabulous support (and sometimes silliness) on Mumsnet!

I love the happy hormones that have surged right up, especially since the 20 week scan and learning a bit more about our little guy :)

Another vote for how awesome the movements and kicks feel; much more real to me now.

I love sharing the beginning of a life we created with DH.

What a gift we all have! And I say that in the midst of a pregnancy rhinitis-induced nosebleed!

I've had a rubbish pregnancy but the kicks and seeing baby on scans has been amazing hearing his little heart beat.

I have the opposite of the cake thing! Before being pregnant I could eat whatever I wanted. Now I really have to watch it because I'm getting fatter and fatter and fatter. It's crap.

On the plus side: maternity leave coming up! Whoo hoo!

Knowing im carrying my baby daughter & shes snuggled in safe & sound.

Also i was a bit of a chubster before i got pregnant, now im 32weeks and in the best shape of my life. No matter what i eat, i'm not putting on extra weight.

I'm definitely loving the kicks, I could spend hours just watching my tummy move.
I also love the feeling that I'm achieving something truly incredible. It really is the miracle of life! And people seem to look at me with respect for that too.
