Hi ladies, I'm 29 weeks looks like I'm going to have sickness and nausea the whole way through. Started feeling sick just after my missed period, by week 5 was throwing up 15 times a day. By week 17 it had calmed down, but I'm still sick every morning, and feel nauseous on and off all day,

It's getting me down I'm exhausted with it, but I've come to accept this is it for the next 3 months. I'm scared it's going to coming bk worse again too.

Is there any one who suffered all the way through and if so when did it stop. I want to breast feed but I have images of feeling sick feeding baby.

I just can't imagine not feeling non sick ever again.

Please tell me I will feel human again lol

Poor you!

With ds, I was. Sick from the day after I did a positive test at 4 weeks and was still being sick as I was being wheeled into theatre for my section.

This pregnancy, I was sick for a week, and promty asked for medication, which I still take at 31 weeks (days where I've thought I won't take it, I've had my head down the loo again the next morning).

I was pregnant with ds 11 years ago and I kept being told there was nothing safe to take and to deal with it - and tbh, I don't think anyone believed me how severe it was, even when I was puking bile in don't of them and had lost three stone by the first trimester. This time I knew I wasn't going to live through that again!

Is medication something you'd consider?

Hi SweetPea sorry to hear you're so ill. I felt sick through my whole first pregnancy and this one is headed the same way... There is lots of support and advice on the Hyperemesis Support thread about pregnancy sickness and medication, pop over there to say hello to other sick people! I'll post a link for you now...

I was sick throughout both pgs despite being medicated for HG. after labour I threw up the tea and toast they give you, but was then fine. The first dinner in hospital tasted AMAZING!

Hey I had nausea and vomiting all the way through my first pregnancy and while I was sick giving birth (it seemed a final insult that bit although I know it's normal) it did end almost immediately after. I remember being brought a cup of vegetable soup and eating it as being amazed at the taste! The exquisite flavour!

On the hyperemesis support thread there are lots of us feeling like this. I'm pregnant again and am getting a lot of support there. You could pop over if you like? Smile

I think for me, one of the hardest things was accepting that I wasn't going to have the pregnancy I imagined where I did pregnancy yoga and wandered the shops selecting baby clothes. I can barely leave the house and selecting something to drink has, in bad weeks, made me cry. I didn't imagine this!

I hope you get some good days soon Flowers

Hi I was sick all the way through with DC1, only sick until about 20 weeks and then it came back at 34 weeks with DC2 and only nausea until 14 weeks and then again at the end with DC3. So all completely different, you can never tell. Oh and I've had 2 girls and a boy!

It does end but whilst it lasts it is truely miserable.

First pregnancy I was sick for the 9 months (but the last 2 months were the easiest), last throwing up 5 minutes before DS appeared! (but continuing to feel sick afterwards, although I think that was the antibiotics - I got into trouble with the nurses by stopping taking the antibiotics. I was just so fed up of feeling sick!)

Second pregnancy, less sick but mainly because I got medication this time around (so was only sick once a day instead of all day long). Had a wonderful 2 week break at 5 months when I thought I'd cracked it, but am now 26 weeks and still feeling and being sick Sad

I also feel very alone as I don't know anyone in RL who has been sick. A couple of friends felt a bit sick in the first 2 months but nothing like what I'm experiencing. I too feel like I should be all glowy and blooming but instead I just drag myself through the day and go to bed at the same time as my toddler.

Thanks ladies, I was on medication but it didn't really help I took it for 2.5 month and I felt like a zombie, the time I took those it feels like a blur,

Yes I had imagined pregnancy to be this wonderful time I spend most time in house I went on my maternity this week 29 weeks because I'm exhausted.

When I talk to midwife about it she just says awwww poor you, and same with docotrs just been told its one of those things I had to beg for medication.

Most people think its u just feel a little sickly but I feel like hell.

I had plans to eat super healthy but I eat what will stay down. Crisps have been my savouir at settling my stomach,

I will have a look at the .hg thread thanks.

I just can't wait till my little bundle of joy is here and I don't feel sick. I can't imagine not picking up awful smells and feeling sick at every thing, it's become the norm

TWothreefoursix, I totally understand the feeling alone. Some one I work with had had four kids and she only got sickness first couple of months and she said was just a bit sick first thing then felt fine. She hasn't been very sympathetic because I think she just thinks I'm being a drama queen.

That's probs the worst thing feel totally isolated :(

I'm still throwing up every day and I'm 36 weeks. Sorry.

I don't feel nauseous any more tho. It's more a relflux-y type of sickness.

Last time I had hg I sat on a flat on my own while dp was at work in a town where I barely knew anyone and cried and puked and cried day in day out. I felt so alone. This time I've actually been more ill but I've really appreciated the hg support thread mentioned above. It helps that I can say to people "I know this lady who..." rather than people telling me "oh I was sick but managed to carry on with my job" (the reply to which is obviously "well you weren't as sick as I am then were you?") It helps just telling people who don't try to offer comfort by belittling how you feel. Don't you find that people keep on with the bright n cheerful "buck up" statements when they do nothing but make you feel worse? Yes I'm grateful I'm not throwing up ten times a day and I'm out of hospital now but I still shudder at the sight n smell of food, dread eating and throw up each day. Nausea rules me and I don't really leave the house.

Sorry bit ranty there...

My MS disappeared the day I gave birth - sorry Hmm. I had spent the last 9 months choosing food based on what it was like coming back up Confused. As a bonus though food tasted FANTASTIC in the days after the birth. Gained all my pregnancy weight then ..........,,,

Mine finished about an hour after my children were born - both times. (csection).

Having not been able to drink a cup of tea for 9 months because it made the foul taste in my mouth worse, I suddenly though 'ooh a cup of tea would be nice' and I realised the crippling, constant nausea, the taste, the shakes, the feeling that I would rather die than have another day of this was just...gone.

People who haven't had it have no idea how utterly, utterly soul destroying it is. It took being pregnant to teach me how completely ruled by hormones we are.

I stopped being sick straight after birth, I actually weighed a stone less than before I was pg. Being sick for the whole nine months is no fun. I was ridiculed at work as I spent most of the day at the loo. driving the two miles to work I would have to stop the car several times to be sick .
The morning after my son was born I enjoyed a really hearty cooked breakfasr and I could actually taste the dood, the awful metallic taste in my mouth had disppeared finally.
Agree More year it is soul destroying but unlike the Duchess of Cambrigde we have to get on with life and don't have the luxury of beig admitted to hospital. In fact my GP/midwife told me I had to get on with it and to stop whining? Very supportive

I vomited several times a day all the way through, until the day I gave birth. The list of foods that made me sick was endless. I think I lived on chips most of the time.
I remember getting off the tram after work and throwing up in the tram car park every day, before driving hom.
Thoroughly miserable time I'm afraid and has definitely put me off having another.

Pregnancy no 1 I was sick every day (sometimes up to 30 times) and was admitted to hospital. Stopped as soon as baby was born.

Pregnancy no 2 usual nausea, sick only a few times.

It's awful, you have my sympathies
