Been feeling leaky all day so popes on a bad and rang hospital. They said keep it on all night and if still feel wet in the morning to ring my me to get checked out. That was at 11pm

Went to bed and as soon as got into bed dd went crazy and kept have sharp stabby pain in cervix and major backache like period pains it's been 4 hours and I've still got really bad back ache and tummy ache a lot of pressure down low as still feeling rather wet.
Dp is in bed as he has work so don't want to wake him for no reason so I'm bouncing on my ball which is helping the pain slightly
This is my first so I could by completely wrong.
But it certainly feels like something is happening

Oh I'm 39+3

Sorry if this make no sense. I want to try and not take painkillers until I really have too as I'm bouncing I feel more and more pressure

Hi Stom, I'm pg with my first, so no real advice but here to keep you company if you like! How are you feeling now?

Stom91 · 17/12/2013 03:25

Thanks :)
Still lots of pressure and period pain back ache which is quite painful but the bouncing is helping ease the pain.
It's been stop start all weekend so I'm hoping it starts to get worse but in a good way haha

Eek it might be happening

My friend was in labour for a few days, try having a bath that's the only advice the midwife gave her at the beginning xxxxx

Don't panic! If I were you I would call the hospital again and ask for advice. Don't worry as they answer the phone 24 hours a day and are often most busy with calls at night as women often start labour at night.

It sounds to me like you might be in labour but the hospital will be best placed to advise you.

Good luck!

Thanks. We will be calling her Amelia Kathleen :)

I would have a bath but m bath is tiny it's more I comfy that anything I was thinking maybe hot shower on my back as I can have that hotter than a bath? But I may wait abit as dp has work so I don't wana wake him just yet

Thanks for the good lucks. I really hope it's actually something and not my imagination lol

Well, you know your body so something must be happening if you feel it is! Give the mw / hospital another call though.

Lovely name, btw!

I had Braxton Hicks at 39 weeks.
It took another 3 weeks for DD to appear Wink

not saying that'll happen to you, but I was absolutely convinced it was the start of labour.

(and you know I'm marking my place for a Live Birth Thread Grin )

All ok Stom? Watching the clock until shower time? Wink

Period type pain could well be labour starting.

You're very generous not having a shower because DP has work! I wouldn't be as charitable.

If you think your waters might be leaking, do keep a close eye on this. If you lie down for a bit, do you get a bit if a gush when you stand up?

Good luck!

Hey in ok just went back to bed to try and sleep but my back is killing too much. And getting sharp pains still so going to ring the hospital just to let them know really.

I'm ised to back pain as I suffer from it on a daily basis but I can't even sleep through this so it's defiantly something!

I'd say things were starting up! Smile

But, just so you know, I was in slow labour (after a sweep) for a few days with my first baby.
Had the sweep on weds pm and she was born 7am on sat.

It was really fri at around 11pm that things got urgent!

The Mdwf told me that she knew I wasn't in labour because I could still converse.

If you start getting regular pains, time them.

If they get to around mins between each pain, go in.

But, if you are scared and would like to be checked, I'm sure the hospital wouldn't mind.

It's really not so bad when you look back.

You really do forget it all anyway when you hold your little one in your arms and she grips your finger :)

Hey, it can't be THAT scary, I'm due number 4 in 18 weeks! :)

So, be strong and keep your eyes on the prize!
You'll be absolutely fine.

All the very best of luck xxx

Hey Stom have you been able to get any rest? And are you able to time the pains yet? Once they get regular give your DP a nudge to let him know you might need him to be awake soon.
My contractions went from achey pains to 4mins apart lasting for 1min within two hours and I had to wake my DH up really quickly, he was quite funny in his sleepy panic.
Sending you lots of positive birthing vibes, be strong, remember you're in charge and ask for what you need when you need it. Hopefully we'll have another December baby before the day is out.

Oh good, loved mine

Don't be too strict on waiting for regular contractions as you may not get them. Go in when you think you need to worse case they send you home or to eat pizza
