Pregnancy

Is it baby moving? Or my imagination?

Hello Ladies,

I have been lurking for quite a while reading posts and finally decided to post. I miscarried at 12 weeks early in this year and I'm now pregnant again at 17 weeks. I've been experiencing a fluttering sensation since last week.

Who ever I've spoken to and everywhere I've read suggests that women don't experience this until about 20+weeks with their first pregnancies!

Has anyone else here felt this at 16-17 weeks with their first pregnancy? I wasn't sure when I felt it last week but feel more certain that it is baby. Just wondering if my imagination is goin wild.

It can feel a lot like gas bubbles (even now at 32 weeks some if her movements in my pelvis feel like that!)

Just ignore what everyone says and allow yourself to believe its your little baby letting you know its ok :)

hi, I am baby no. 1 and felt pops and bubbles from 17weeks!!! I think that if you are in tune with your body and I am sure after a trauma like a miscarriage you are!! you feel things earlier!!

enjoy the little fluttering, I have a football practice in my belly at the moment!!!

Thank u Bluecarrot and Bumpiemalumpie, that's reassured me that it's not my imagination. Thought I was going crazy wanting to feel something desperately this time because of the miscarraige! I will just ignore others and enjoy it. At least now I feel less anxious knowing that baby is there just letting me know everything is ok.

This is my first pregnancy and I'm nearly 39 weeks, I didn't think I had movement until about 20-22 weeks but in hindsight I wonder if I felt very tiny flutters earlier than that but Just didn't know....I think of u think it's that then all good and even if it isn't it's all good too I'm sure! Good luck with pregnancy Smile

I felt my DD move at 13 week, just before our scan. It was definitely DD and not gas.

She's my first too

I started getting flutters at about 17/18 weeks, felt like a combination of drinking fizzy juice on an empty stomach and that nervous feeling you get in the pit of your stomach. And this is my first pregnancy.

At first you do wonder if it really is baby moving but you'll find they get stronger and stronger. And if you don't feel them for a day or two don't worry, baby still has plenty of room to hide in there!

SinkyMalinks · 10/11/2013 18:43

I felt definite movement at about 16+5 after swimming, and remember that looking back I'd had flutters for a few days.

Seems likely it's baby movements!

HandragsNGladbags · 10/11/2013 18:44

Yes felt movements with DD1 at 17 weeks, could feel external kicks at 24 weeks and I have a fair layer of stomach to get through Smile

DC3 I am 15 weeks and have the odd sensation now, but wouldn't know what it was if I hadn't felt the same movements stronger before.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 10/11/2013 18:49

I felt dd2 move at 15 weeks but she wasn't my first so I knew what to look for but it was still early Grin

FullOnRobotChubby · 10/11/2013 18:51

Yes, felt DD1 before 16 weeks, it felt like popping bubbles. DD2 was even earlier, just a few days after the 12 week scan.

DH was able to feel the movement too about a week later, so I'm certain it wasn't just indigestion!

dizhin79 · 10/11/2013 22:23

I was from 16 +5 at the 20wk scan it showed I have a posterior placenta so think thats why so much earlier

Snobble · 11/11/2013 12:20

I felt my first thumpings about 19weeks and this is my first preg.

It feels like someone is lightly tapping on your abdomen.

mrsksays · 11/11/2013 12:51

My first pregnancy and I'm 22 weeks today. I felt actual kicks not even flutters at 17 weeks.

I'm not even sure I registered flutters as I always thought it was just wind.

LittleLight82 · 11/11/2013 14:04

Another 17 week first timer here feeling definite kicks!

KeepTheCarRunning · 11/11/2013 14:40

I felt flutters around week 16 with dc1, sort of like champagne bobbles in my stomach Smile Currently 11 weeks with dc2 and was convinced I felt movement the other night - but that was just wind Blush
