39 weeks,.... Join me for final week(s) wait?

39 weeks today! Yay!
I'm kinda ready now though. Another week (possibly more) seems like such a long time, but baby is showing no signs at all of shifting, so I guess should probably get cosy for (yet another) 2 week wait?! Anyone fancy joining me to pass the time/pass tips on 'encouraging' baby to make a timely appearance?
Or on sleeping..... As you can see I'm not managing that too well either :)

Morning. I am also 39 weeks today! Smile
Also no signs but did go out for a curry last night ha ha.
DC1 arrived on the due date so I have no idea about this one.

Is it your first? Are you disappointed by the lack of any signs? I am! Although the first time I had braxton hicks last time was the night before I went into actual labour.

Hi Monday!
Yes is going to be my first - a girl according to scans :)
Fab that your first dc arrived on time, how very prompt :) was it a surprise when baby just rocked up on the day he/she was supposed to??
Yeah I guess I am a little surprised at lack of signs - I thought there would be more to be honest.... But I guess that's just how this one is supposed to be!
Have you got plans for the next week? Or I guess dc1 is keeping you busy most of the time anyway?

Bang on 39 weeks for me today too. Had 2 episodes of 'period pains' last week when I thought it was all starting (wishful thinking) but then nothing. 100% ready for the baby to arrive now. Not sleeping well at all, not that that will improve, I'm sure!
Nice to have some others on same date Smile

Ooh nice there's a few of us on the same countdown!
I certainly did not expect DS to arrive on his due date no ha ha. As he was due mid month (like this one!) I had just told myself well anytime that month really but lo and behold 10am that day I went into labour and by 9pm he was born.

I am a little scared how quickly it could all happen this time and getting childcare sorted etc.

No major plans for next week - have a baby maybe ha! DS definitely keeps me busy and exhausted

How about you both - any plans for next week?

No plans at all. Officially bored on maternity leave. Cleaned all cupboards out etc. DH keeps saying the house is clinically clean. Will just keep on top of it now.
Just making a raspberry leaf tea then will get on my gym ball for a bit of bouncing. I really thought I would be early but quickly losing hope of that now!

I have plans for every single day! Trying to stay as busy as possible, and invoke Sod's law that she will arrive on the most inconvenent day possible :)

I am 39 on Monday. Can I join in too? Few sporadic pains but I am hoping they hold off till I have recovered from this horrible stinking cold. Lots booked in for the next two weeks so I don't sit around thinking about it too much.

I'm only 37+2 (according to 12 wk scan...38+1 by my calculations lmp/date of conception etc) and it feels like forever away!!

I got myself all excited hearing of woman who didn't go past 38 wks and mws saying from 37 wks is fine but this little guy is showing ZERO signs of wanting to move any time soon...or maybe he is and I just don't know it lol this is my first!

Definitely having this lack of sleep issue, I can't get comfy to save my life Hmm I so miss sleeping on my stomach. If I lay on one side too long I promptly get a kick in the ribs and have to turn over again Grin.

I felt like the first 35 wks just flew by but since then time has seriously slowed down, I completely empathise with your impatience at 39 wks! I plan to keep incredibly busy (well as busy as my awful pelvis will allow anyways) that way I figure either the activity will help speed things along or maybe he'll just decide to make an appearance just to interfere with plans (hopefully ones that involve the in laws Grin). Or at the very least perhaps keeping busy will help the time stop passing so slow!

Hopefully you'll not have to wait too much longer, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you ladies, it won't be long and we'll all have happy news to share Smile Thanks xx

Completely agree with the 35 weeks going quickly! And now time is standing still. Miss sleeping on my front so much too. Seriously don't know what I would have done without my pregnancy pillow.
Managed a half decent sleep last night for a change. Going out with the dogs and DH in a while to try and get something going. Then back on the ball for the day!

Genetics- ooh pains are exciting! Are you jumping at every twinge like I am? :)

Chilli - I did the same, got all excited at 37 weeks thinking 'any day now' and I'm slowly realising it's just not going to happen. She will be late. Doesn't help that the messages ever single morning of 'any sign yet' have been going for a week now!

Unfortunately I have felt like every day of this pregnancy has been the longest ever - had a bit of a rocky start - so the whole way has literally been jumping milestone to milestone. Time dragging is nothing new, but can't wait til she here safe.

Just off to the shops for supplies of curry, pineapple, and whatever else I can find that may get things started!

ibelieveinpink yes I am. Had three contractions the other evening but then they stopped. My friend who has had 4 gave me some very sage advise which I am sticking to... If you think labour is starting go to bed and get some sleep, it will either stop if the baby is just mucking around, if not at least you will have had a half hour nap.

I am just concentrating on the fact that the baby will definitely be here in 3 weeks time. Seems less stressful like that.

Hello hello! I am 39 weeks exactly today too. May I join please? Congrats Princess, just read your birth story! Wow. Hoping this one ( my second) makes a more relaxed ( but timely!) appearance... Dd1 was 10 days overdue. Good luck to all and let's hope things get moving soon. Don't want to have to wait til the full moon on the 17th ;)

Little one - that's funny you mention the full moon - that's what my mum said too!
Any signs from anyone? I had a few cramps about an hour ago - hardly even progressed to more than a twinge so I'm guessing nothing. I really reckon it's going to be sometime mid next week - I wonder how accurate just going on instinct on this? Hmm

Had a lot of twinges last night. Really thought something was going to happen but it all eased off by the end of downton abbey! Nothing today over than 2 piercing pains in my pubic bone about an hour ago which nearly made me yell. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for weds as my lucky number is 13. Anyone else?

I feel same as you jpy. Just been to my midwife appointment. All looks as it should, just want something to happen now. She just told me to keep bouncing on my ball! Fingers crossed for us all. Really want to avoid a sweep and definitely being induced.

Glad everything is looking good! It's nice to know/think baby is getting ready! Yeah sweep doesn't sound to good i am back again on Thursday and that's the plan if baby hasn't come by then! I've been bouncing on my ball too especially if I get Any twinges for some reason if I get a pain I bounce like mad convinced its going to happen!! I know ill regret saying it but I'm starting to get bored! Everything is ready and I've got nothing left to do feels like a bit of a waiting game, just trying to keep myself busy while hubby is at work!

HMT13 · 12/11/2013 10:37

That's exactly how I feel. Bored! We live away from family and friends so don't have anyone to visit/meet etc apart from a few ladies, and they all work. It's getting tedious. Going to bake this afternoon to pass the time. But then I'll just get fatter from eating cake!
Is this your first baby? I have no idea what I'm looking out for pain wise. Although I'm sure I'll know once the time comes!

jpy1989 · 12/11/2013 11:07

Yeah this is my first! Guessing it is yours too!! I know what you mean about the pains and stuff I'm the same but everyone just says you will know! I've done all my 'catching up' with friends and getting jobs done and stocked up on everything just incase the baby came early but now I'm sort of at a loose end not wanting to go too far just incase!! Atleast that by the end of next week I will hopefully have a baby!!!

IBelieveInPink · 12/11/2013 11:14

Hi ladies. No movement here either! Just had midwife appointment- she is now 3/5 engaged, more than last time but not really enough yet is it! Booked in for a sweep next week - hopefully won't get to that but I suspect I will.
I know what you mean about not wanting to hate it. I have loved everything from 20 week scan onwards (was very worried early on due to previous miscarriages) so want all the happy memories to carry on. Come on babies!!!

Whoops, posted too soon. I don't actually remember what labour felt like last time ( despite it being only 18 months ago) but my first was back to back so it was mainly horrendous back pain. Apparently normal labour is more along the bump and period- like pains so it's sort if all new to me too. No twinges or anything yet though. Sigh. Off to the cinema now, hoping my waters don't break and I ruin the seat. Actually what do I care as long as things get started ;)

HMT13 · 12/11/2013 13:02

Pink, mine is only 3/5 too. Midwife said any level of engagement is fine as long as the head's not moving round?! More than last time anyway.
Ah well, we all sound like we're in the dark with what we're looking out for. Nature needs to get a wriggle on!

Hi all good to see a few more on here also waiting, definitely helps to know there's a few of us feeling similarly in limbo!

No signs here but as this is my second I am actually enjoying the two days DS is at nursery and doing things I haven't done in a long time like reading, shopping at a leisurely pace, having time ON MY OWN ha ha Grin

Wonder how many of us will have our babies with the full moon.. Could be interesting...

Keep us updated with any early labour signs.
