Due the 16th Dec, will I be overdue?

My first child was overdue by 14 days. Will my second be just as late? I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant, due on the 16th december and don't want my baby to come on Christmas Day!

My first was 10 days late, my second came four days early! But there's no way of knowing. I was due 17th Dec so was worried about a Christmas Day baby too.

I'm worried about a Christmas baby too as due on 19th Dec! But I just keep telling myself that it's out of my control and baby will come when baby wants to come! :-/ :-)

Definitely out of our control I don't think any of the remedies work :( is this your first or second child? Fingers crossed we both have our babies by Xmas day

My first was two weeks late and my second was two weeks early, so I don't think it's possible to say. My second was due mid January and arrived 30th December, on a very icy morning :)

Ooh that's so nice to read! I'm extremely worried that he will be late I don't want to take Xmas day away from my first child.

Did you have a straight forward labour?

Snap Jess - due on the 16th of Dec with my second too!

DS was 6 days early but have been told that has no real bearing on whether this one will be early or late. I don't fanc a Christmas s birth though!

Mine were both induced at 2 weeks late.

Who knows, but I really sympathise, so horrible being overdue especially over Christmas.

For me, dd1 due 21th Dec, was induced on 5th Jan. Dd2 was only 4 days late and dd3 7 days late, so I hope some positive stories give you hope!

Good luck OP.

Grin I was due 16th dec and gave birth on the 19th so fingers crossed that happens for you too.

I went out dancing on the 17th which may have had something to.do with it.

I'm due 15th Dec and convinced myself that if I was overdue I would be induced early as the hospital wouldn't want to do an induction between Christmas and new year, the midwife however informed me that they do inductions on Christmas day if they need to! I'm planning on keeping my fingers crossed from about the 10th!

Just come back and seen your q about pregnancies and births- both pregnancies fine, 1st birth hideous 77 hr nightmare followed by emcs, 2nd was 7 hr "lovely natural birth" according to midwife I would describe it somewhat differently. Completely different births, completely different babies! Good luck all who are due Smile.

I was due on 13th December and gave birth on 22nd.

I was in labour for 3 days. I asked about being induced at one point and they told me that the next day they could induce me would be Christmas day so I decided to wait for nature to take it's course.

One of my ante-natal friends had her baby on Christmas day.

Yes I was also thinking the same, I may ask for a sweep a week before my due date and see what she says. I think I would cry if my pregnancy goes past the 23rd Dec.

My first was due on 16th Dec and finally arrived on Boxing Day after a two day labour! I was so desperate to avoid a Christmas Day birth at first but by the time it arrived I was desperate for a Christmas Day baby just to get it over and done with. Hope yours comes earlier OP - I'm currently awaiting number 2's arrival - 39+3 and no sign yet Smile

Ah Jessica, I feel for you. I couldn't believe I was 'only' 4 days late with DC2 after also being induced 2 weeks over with dc1.

It's the not knowing that is so difficult. Be comforted that many many people have much better experiences with their second birth. I know you have the added stress of Christmas, but whenever your baby arrives, you will make their birthday special whatever day it is.

Sending due date birth vibes your way.

I'm also due on the 16th with my first. I actually have a fiver on giving birth on Christmas Day! Not too bothered when LO arrives as long as they are healthy.
