Petrified of my scan

Because I have zero symptoms, really absolutely none apart from bigger boobs and some bloating. But that can be blamed on IBS.

I am 11+3 today, my scan is on Friday and I'm just petrified of mmc. I saw a happy baby at a scan at 8+2 but I'm well aware that things can change in seconds. It's all I can think about. I'm counting down the days and it's so all consuming Hmm

You could just be one of the lucky few who dont suffer early pregnancy symptoms. Try not to worry. Best wishes, I hope your scan goes well.

I remember thinking with DS1 that the scan would just show a bump full of maltesers, my symptoms were so mild. Fingers crossed for you Smile

I've had basically no symptoms whatsoever and I'm just shy of 36 weeks!

Aww, tea, me too. Not every symptom applies to every woman/ pregnancy - they're just general things that many people may recognise. Some people 'feel pregnant', some don't! I only feel pregnant when baby is kicking me :)

While mmc is a possibility, it's an unlikely one. You're much more likely, statistically (having made it to heartbeat stage) to have everything be just fine.

I really sympathise because I felt just the same! Honestly, the relief of the scan only lasted a few hours before I was worrying again!
Try to relax and realise that you can't control this, but the stats are on your side. x

Oh love, am sure it will be fine. If it helps, maybe the fact you're so worried is a sign of hormones kicking in?

I had no clue until I was 4 months with DTDs. During that time had sailed round the IOW and done the Inca Trail. No symptoms whatsoever and was actually losing weight, and proud with my lack of a tummy when snorkelling in a wetsuit!

Tea I had this all consuming fear in my first 3 months also. I was shaking by the time I got to the hospital for the scan and I burst out crying when I walked into the room. There's all crazy hormones flying round and everything is very exaggerated. There's your symptom!

You have to try to stay calm, it'll be fine! Flowers

I had no pregnancy symptoms with DS during the first trimester (had an upset tummy but get that a fair bit anyway).

Second pregnancy I was very sick, ended up as MMC Sad

This pregnancy (currently 19 weeks) I've been somewhere between the 2. Symptoms don't necessarily mean anything either way.

If you have seen a heartbeat at 8 weeks, you've a 98% chance of a successful pregnancy. Please don't stress yourself about it Thanks

Please try not to worry. I know it's easier said than done. :)

Good luck, I hope you feel more reassured after your scan.

Thank you everyone Smile This week is going to drag isn't it? That stat of 98% is very reassuring rockchick. Here's hoping. I shall report back on Friday x

I understand your worried about scan mines next week to and really scared that summit will be wrong. I'm opposite I have every symptom feel really poo. Cause I've ate bugger all and when I do not that healthy I worry baby might be unhealthy too. My mam had no symptoms pregnant my sis and I were fine. Looks like it skipped a generation and passed it all to me.

I think its natural to be nervous. It's hard knowing there's a baby inside you and you can see or hear any thing I'm this biggest worrier in the world so this is driving my crazy.

Let us know how you scan goes I'm sure every thing will be fine xxx

just think this way, if you had no symptoms at all and already had a scan and baby seemed ok then don't worry that still no symptoms now! if that makes sense? my mmc was obvious from the very beginning and it's more than likely you will be fine! good luck x

I felt the same before my 12 week scan. I didn't get a bump until 34 weeks either so thought it was all fake! Everyone is different and just count yourself lucky you've had it good so far. You will be nervous until they tell you all is fine you'll be over the mood and then you'll move on to worrying about your 20 week scan good luck for tomorrow!

Bigger boobs is a good sign and the only sign I had for my two successful pregnancies. In hindsight when I had an mmc they were flat and floppy as per ;). Good luck OP !
