How far are you? I'm in third tri and find surrounding myself with comfy pillows does the trick, putting one in-between my legs too, also reading is good to wind down before you sleep, a lot of women suffer a bit of insomnia when pregnant, it's horrible Sad x

I'm only 11 weeks! I fear it's going to be a very long pregnancy xx

Only this - trying not to sleep. Great book, TV, upright seat... Anything interesting. Sends me right off (albeit for only short periods)

I found I couldn't sleep then either. Warm bath, warm milk etc. The pillow between the leg thing is amazing.

I found it gets better. Until the 3rd trimester when it all goes to hell lol. :)

If you're awake because you're worrying, keep a little book by your bed and write little worries or things you think of that you need to do it when you think of them.

Dh thought this was a pain in the arse so then I started waking him up and telling him instead. He soon thought the book method was better.

yep! I agree. im in 3rd trimester which is hell!

try to get sleep whenever you can through out the day, that is the only thing keeping me going x

It's not because of worrying, I just can't seem to drop off, and when I do I wake 1-2 hours later! And I can't get comfortable

Me too. I'm really struggling with sleep then resorting to cbeebies for my toddler during the day coz little energy for much else, which is making me feel guilty...bloody vicious circle. I'm 37 weeks and hoping she comes NOW!

I am 32 weeks so not long into 3rd tri and yes v uncomfortable as the little one kicks the whole night. Not that I am complaining, I'd sooner he/she was kicking me in the pelvis (agony) than not kicking at all!
But second the pillow between the legs it really works.
Also make sure you pee just before going to sleep. I am managing to only get up only once during the night. And this is only a recent thing too, up until a couple of weeks ago, I never woke during the night. Definitely the worst of the trimesters but at the same time, getting closer to having the little bundle at home. Am getting very excited..

I second the 6-8 times a night. For sone reason, everytime I wake up, even if it just to turn over, my body decides I should try to pee! I have tried ignoring it, particularly if it was only 30 mins before, but it just nags until I give in! I am pretty much used to it now as I have had sleep issues and a lying bladder since day one of this pregnancy. Only now I believe it is the baby using my bladder as a cushion. It seems to be the side of choice for the LO. I am 28 weeks so just into third tri and am sure I have lots of fun night adventures to come now:)

I just wish I could sleep in the day too, but body or work won't let that happen! But I still love being pregnant :)

I third 6-8 times a nightShockGrin it's such a nightmare, I'm like a horse don't know where I put it, I'm sick of the loo trips, but I suppose if I'm used to waking through the night for the last trimester il be in fit shape to do night feeds Grin
