Hi all.

Just to say my sweep and acupuncture worked yesterday. Went into labour last night got to hopsital at 3cm stayed On Birth centre until midnight where they said I couldn't stay as they needed the bed an I hadn't progressed more than 3 cm even though I was having agonising contractions 3 minutes apart. Went home doubting that I was actually in labour as they said I wasn't established enough. Slept quite well as the contractions died off to every half an hour so just woke up for them. Contractions started getting close together again from nine am. Decide I couldn't carry on with no pain relief so went in at half 1. Baby girl born at half 3 this afternoon. Currently can't sleep in postnatal as it was too late for a 6 hour discharge.

Sorry for lack of paragraphs on phone.

Good luck all waiting to go into labour.

Yep all good. Working on a name. She was a big girl at 8Ib8 but not quite as big as my first boy (9Ib7). Thought she'd be a boy so hadnt really picked a girls. Glad I didn't go over (due 22nd) she'd have been huge!

First post on this thread, 38 weeks with #3 so on the countdown!

Baby currently breech, or was on Wednesday. Was head down the week before and transverse the fortnight before that so It's clearly having a great time in there lol.

Back for a scan on Tuesday so hopefully it has shifted again.

Hello everyone! 39 weeks today so can legitimately check in ;-)
My first baby was a 9lber so hoping I don't go over with this one as she's set to be even bigger. A bit uncomfortable now so just hoping it happens soon...

Hi. I'm 38+1 with first baby. Starting to realise that birth is not too far away. I've started waking up thinking 'is today the day?'

Watch me go two weeks over now!

Hello all, I'm also 39 weeks today so officially feel very close.

I saw the mw yesterday who told me they'd start giving me sweeps next Friday (39+6) if I haven't popped by then. I have quite large fibroids and they don't want me to go much overdue, I'm happy to follow advice as in beginning to get slightly bored/ too used to maternity leave with nothing to do except the odd bit of cooking.

So it looks like my LO will likely come either side of next weekend, I can't wait to meet him or her!!

Good luck to you all, anyone else got caesarean our induction dates?

Crikey, hello everyone!

Sunshinemiddle and sunshine200. Unless my maths has gone the way of my memory, you are two different people right!! 200, you're due tomorrow?

So I'm four days over now. Trying very hard to take advantage of the last few days with my ds (3.3) and not do the waiting game. Not easy when you're getting texts such as 'are you still pregnant' well I fecking hope so. Thanks for the extra worry there.

Anyway!! Good luck all you lucky buggers whose mw will do sweeps! Hope it moves things along.

So, just been to the loo and trying to work out if the dampness I'm feeling is waters trickling or just me being a bit... Sweaty... Lovely i know.
Then decided to place some loo roll just inside my fanjo to see if it got wet, and it came away pink!!!
Panic or check hospital bag?!!

From all I have read, do not panic, check bag, put on pad and wait for an hour

Unless gushing then stand in bath, order new carpet and call Midwife!!

Hey guys.

So ive had my sweep on thursday and she booked me in for induction on 27th she seemed to think im likely to need the induction. I have had a show since though so good sign.

I felt disheartened though cus i want a water birth and wont be allowed if im induced. So.... I frantically looked online for ways of natural induction, i.e curry, rlt etc but i liked the look of acupuncture, i had that done this morning so hoping and waiting but im booked in for 2nd session tomoro morning if it doesnt happen tonight. Fingers crossed.

mummra's announcement has filled me with hope!!! Did you feel anything atall after the acupuncture? Or did labour just come on out of the blue?

Yes, we are different people - due tomorrow. I wouldn't mind being late too much if it wasn't for this dreadful heartburn! I had it last pregnancy but not as bad as this.

Dd1 was just 4 days overdue so I'm thinking the second one should come earlier than that...

Charleystar - I didn't realise you couldn't have a water birth if you are induced, may have to start on the curry myself!

Report
CruCru · 21/09/2013 20:31

Charlystar - have you tried reflexology? I had a foot massage and although it didn't bring on labour right away, DS went loopy in there. Fucking painful though.

FastWindow · 21/09/2013 20:58

Water birth isn't compatible with monitoring systems. Ditto drip. Don't think it's totally impossible though. Don't lose all hope!

Pad is in, and now have slight pinkish brown discharge. Not loads though, and no pains, just a heavy feeling down there. Family on low alert!!

Heard waters smell like hay. What does hay smell like?!

fast I had something like that on thurs. I thought it was the bloody show. Not really a mucus plug tho more like the end of a period. I did have a sweep in the morning tho so could have been to do with that. So far I've had no progress. Feeling a bit fed up and want to meet my baby.

Hello! I am 38+3 so keen to check in as well! I was doing well in terms of not being too impatient, but this is my third day of having low-down crampy feelings and it's starting to make me wonder. Although (this is my second) my DS was a full week late so am aware I could also be settling in for a wait of a few weeks. So, am just trying to make the most of having lots of 1 on 1 time with DS while I wait, which is actually very nice.

I had acupuncture last week as my MW does it, and didn't notice anything afterward although did find lying back with needles in my feet strangely relaxing.

Checking in here too at 37+6 and on semi-bed rest. Have an ELCS booked for Friday thank god as I am enormous with chronic headaches that landed me in the ward last week having a CT scan of my brain Shock all well thank goodness, just a huge baby crushing all nerves and organs and blood vessels. The bed rest helps a lot too.

With DS I went 2 full weeks overdue and he ended up being born by EMCS as he was transverse and just shy of 10lbs. This time the baby's even bigger and even the VBAC clinic midwives said gently that it was very unlikely to happen naturally, so ELCS it is.

And I've been up since 2.30am with heartburn, and returning DS (nearly 2) to his new toddler bed every half hour. We need to crack this before the new baby arrives but DH and I are both shattered!

This is definitely my last child, I'm brilliant at being pregnant until about 33 weeks (blooming, no MS) and then my body just seems to cave in under the strain of huge babies with heartburn, SPD, leg cramps and back pain, low blood pressure and headaches. Two and done for sure, luckily DH is entirely in agreement!

Flowers for everyone also waiting. I was so fed up by 42 weeks with DS I honestly couldn't be responsible for my actions when people said things like "still here then?" or "have you tried pineapple/RLT/curry/sex etc" Angry I think reflexology after 40 weeks should be mandatory just to bring the frustration levels down to a manageable level Wink

Looks like things are beginning to happen! 40+5 and having really uncomfortable stabby-but not-spd pains accompanied by some waters. I wonder if I should ring anyone yet.
The pinkish discharge was obviously a good sign, and I noticed my boobs were starting to go a bit Pammy as well.
