Hi layla, it's so hard to give any reassurance as every woman and situation is different, but bleeding doesn't necessarily mean mc that early on. I had bits of bleeding on and off in the early days and am now expecting baby any day. You have done the right thing getting looked at, so just keep talking to the professionals and taking care of yourself and hopefully it will work out for you. Sorry i can't be of more help! Good luck.

Hi,

Like the other lady said- everyone is different but I bled with my first pregnancy and at 11 weeks had to go to A&E for a scan etc. It was very scary especially when it is your first pregnancy and you have no idea what is normal. I also had to go again at 20 weeks as my cervix softened and I started to bleed- even scarier when you are so close to your second scan. Just try to stay calm and relax and not worry- whatever happens. Don't do anything too strenuous and just rest a bit. You can also have implantation bleeding where the foetus is attaching itself or your cervix can get damaged during sex -so you can bleed for lots of reasons. Good luck.

No not in my experience especially early on.

I know it's really worrying, try and rest and do something to distract yourself. Can you flick the telly on for a bit and watch a crappy film then get an early night?

It's very common to have period symptoms early on. I remember being quite shocked I still had them.

It's also really common to bleed during pregnancy but any bleeding needs to be checked out.

Brew Thanks

I don't know love, you need to talk to your gp in the morning if you haven't done already today, or go to your local EPU.

I would ask for a scan at epu tomorrow phone as soon as they open I bled for 7 weeks at the beginning of this pregnancy and am now 31 weeks so not always bad fingers crossed yours is not good luck xx

It could be implantation bleeding, hopefully. I bled pretty much through the first 4 months of my last two pregnancies; everything was fine.
Can you go to the EPU in the morning? Good luck.

Go back to the EPU or your GP tomorrow. Unfortunately there's no way of knowing without another scan - and because it's so early, the scan can't tell you if everything will be alright, only whether it's still ok at that moment.

Clots and pain together are not a good sign. However they don't necessarily mean the worst. I've had five pregnancies, all with bleeding and pain at 6w. 3 ended in miscarriages but they were the lightest bleeds. The one with golf-ball sized clots, bleeding that soaked through jeans and went on for 10 weeks ended in my DD, who's now 4.

Hope all works out well for you.
