Congratulation! Xx

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 28/07/2013 07:51

And he just went back to sleep?

Are you sure he didn't faint!
You've not already got 27 kids, have you? Grin

FraterculaArctica · 28/07/2013 07:52

Thank you! Still shell shocked though the symptoms over the last few days were all pointing in this direction!

FraterculaArctica · 28/07/2013 07:53

No!! This will be DC1. We're getting married in October - is it going to be very obvious by then?

There will likely be a small bump, yes.

I can't believe he just rolled over and went back to sleep!

Did he know you were going to test?

I am picturing him sitting bolt upright in about an hour and saying whhaaaaaaaaaaaat?

Grin

Jojay · 28/07/2013 08:00

Congratulations! Your head must be spinning! (in a good way of course)

FraterculaArctica · 28/07/2013 08:02

Yes he did know, we bought the tests together yesterday and had been talking about it on and off. I'd been thinking my period was just messed about by lots of recent air travel, couldn't decide whether to take its absence seriously or not!!

Probably not as its your first. What an exciting time you have! When I told my DH he was still in bed. He was so happy we had a chat and a cuddle then he went back to sleep. Didnt bother me men are just different about showing there feeling and they don't get as excited as us ladies About thing! Doesn't mean his not over the moon. His just tired! Let him get all the sleep he can over the next 8 months you'll need him rested when you have that baby! :)

FraterculaArctica · 28/07/2013 08:04

I'm glad he's sleeping, he gets quite grumpy when sleep deprived! (that might have to change...)

Wuxiapian · 28/07/2013 08:06

Congratulations, OP!

Let the realisation hit him in a few hours!

chilipeppers · 28/07/2013 08:10

:) yeah my DH used to be like that. Now he can get by on very little sleep. That's what having a child that need less sleep then us! Congrats again!

Kelly1814 · 28/07/2013 08:11

congratulations! you may well be bump free, that's only 3 months away.

i only started to get a teeny bump at 24 weeks. didn't tell work until 26. only now at 30 do i look vaguely pregnant.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 28/07/2013 08:19

Congratultions Flowers
If you have a bump on your wedding day it will be a small, exciting one !

LittlePeaPod · 28/07/2013 11:11

CONGRATULATIONS Flowers. Love these threads!

LittlePeaPod · 28/07/2013 11:14

Forgot to mention... I am currently 17+3 and I am guessing you may be about 4 months in Oct so you wont be showing much. i have atiny bump. you pnly notice it when i wear something really tight or in the buff.. lol. I will be 24 weeks pregnant on my wedding day in September too. Exciting stuff.

FraterculaArctica · 28/07/2013 11:45

Thanks all! Having woken up, DP's biggest worry about the whole thing seems to be that my wedding dress won't fit! Hmm My take is that if I'm lucky enough to get to 17/18 weeks without anything going wrong, that's a minor problem in the scheme of things.

Waiting to see if morning sickness is going to kick in in a significant way or not...

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I told my husband about my BFP over the phone and there was just silence for about 15 long seconds, he then said, "Bloody Hell!" in quite a dazed manner.

About 4 hours later when he came home (he had been playing cricket) he said with quite a confused look on his face, "So you're actually pregnant then?"

I think it's quite funny your fiancée fell back to sleep Smile

Have a lovely wedding x x

Soopermum1 · 28/07/2013 12:03

dh and I went back to watching the Simpsons after I told him I was pregnant with dc1. figured he needed the time to register the info.

he rolled over and went back to sleep when I told him I was in labour, though Angry Angry

FatPenguin · 28/07/2013 12:11

Congratulations!! :) I bet it hasn't sunk in for your OH yet. I am 11 weeks and still struggling to get my head around it.
Enjoy your wedding !

LittlePeaPod · 28/07/2013 12:31

Op. Speak to your dress shop. I spoke to them and as the dress had not been order/made we were able to change design to suit my shape to suit me at 24 weeks pregnant. Get final fitting / amendments week before wedding. They shop was really helpful.

Loving the DP/DH/DF reactions... I told DF over the phone on his way home. When he got home looking a bit dazed the first thing he said was "so have you done a test then?" Hmm. Lol. It was only about 6/8 weeks following a mc so we were both excitedly shocked at how quickly we feel pregnant.

LandsN · 28/07/2013 14:33

Haha soopermum1 that made me giggle as when I told dp I was in labour with dd he said lay down you will be fine and tried to go back to sleep till I stated the fact we needed to go to the hospital NOW lol

Congratulation op :) xx

DameFanny · 28/07/2013 14:38

Congratulations OP!

And an empire line dress with an a-line skirt will be your friend - I was about the same distance with ds when we got married, and it's only the side shots that anything's visible. Plus good cleavage was an added bonus.

Aaaaaw congratulations!! When i told Df I was pregnant last time he looked at me with the most intent look on his face, said 'I know, I told you you were, why are you crying?!' The shock took me over while he was cool as a cucumber!

This time round both of our reactions were a bit more 'holy effing poop' for a good few months weeks but ds had only turned 1 the month before the bfp Grin now she's 2 weeks from due and we can't wait :)

RNJ3007 · 28/07/2013 15:38

Congratulations! With DD, our first, it was 9pm and we were changing the sheets... He dropped the pillow and said 'Bloody hell, I need a fag!'7w post miscarriage.

This time, again 9pm ish, he told me to buy a digital and tell him again in the morning. On seeing 'pregnant', he congratulated the successful body parts and went back to sleep!!!

Secretswitch · 28/07/2013 15:41

Congratulations! You have a busy 12 months ahead of you Grin
