Anyone else out there in the same boat?

Am 34 weeks, so tired and feeling so guilty about the amount of tv my poor DS is watching but he's 2 and so exhausting at the moment.

Anyone care to share things they've found useful?

Bar Cbeebies I bought a tumbletots DVD which he dances along too so is at least getting some exercise.

He likes 'helping' me sort out the playroom.

I have a list of activities I try and do with him once a day even if its only for 5 mins each time.

Getting him to bring me things and move washing along!

Really hoping someone else will come along who is in same boat.

when I was in the same position nine years ago,

I use to go to the park, followed by the pool in the afternoons, and we both would float around on foam noodles for an hour.

I'm 38 weeks with a nearly 2 year old.... she won't nap! Aaaah! I need to paint the new baby's room so I need her to nap. Just for a bit of sanity too! Grin

Kidding myself it will be easier when the baby's here too

I was in this position a couple of months back. Lots of trips to the park, swimming (before I got too fat to get into bathers Wink), helping around the house- which he likes to do, and a lot of tv Confused

Tbh, a lot of things were easier then than with a newborn in tow Wink

I've heard the opposite Phantom, an I I think I'll stick to believing that for my sanity! I guess it really depends on the pregnancy / newborn!

My problem at the moment is that I am physically struggling to keep DS safe when out of the house as can only walk a few paces so we're marooned at home. Poor mite is used to being out and about every day so I really need ideas on keeping him occupied when I'm sitting down!

Although swimming is a good option because of the weightlessness and I could drive there.. Thanks!

Oh no, he's an excellent baby. But things like swimming and soft play with a newborn are a right royal pita for me!! Wink

I'm finding it really hard work too!! 30 weeks with 15 month old so too young for tv watching!! I have too much amniotic fluid so huge and unable to walk far!! Spending most of our time in the garden. I alternate activities ie, sand one day water or paint another. I would much rather look after a 17 month old and newborn than just ds and be pregnant!!

34 weeks with a nearly 17 month old and I'm struggling too. I feel like I'm constantly ratty and no fun to be around. My poor DS eats the same 3 meals on rotation, week in, week out and I'm not feeling very inspired in terms of activities. In fact, I feel like the worst mother in the world at the moment Sad

Sorry OP, that wasn't a very helpful post! I will watch with interest as to any suggestions for activities. I can't bring myself to haul my bulk into a swimming costume, so that's off the list!

I'm 30 weeks with a 2 and a half year old, now I'm on maternity leave I'm with him all day long and running out of stuff to do. I can't see how it is any way going to be any easier after the baby is born, although I may get more help from rellies

No nap still! Going out of my mind. Tried long walks in the pushchair to get her off but that just leaves me more knackered. What have I let myself in for???

We go and play with friends who have young children so they entertain him, play in the paddling pool, catch the bus and go to town and to a cafe, go to the park, there is quite a lot of telly though.

It's already helping knowing other people are going through similar. I also feel like a completely terrible mother.

I often search for indoor toddler activities on Pinterest, set them up and they keep his interest for about one minute! Then I'm back to square one.

At least when the baby comes we might get some of our energy back even if it's through a sleep deprived haze. I found the newborn stage easier than late pregnancy last time so hoping for the same again.
