I'm 28+3 today and feel that I'm now absolutely ballooning! I've kept up with my exercises and walking (as much as I can and/or when the temperature isn't too high!) but I'm worried that I'm eating way too much.

I thought maybe writing down what I eat might help and just wondered what you're eating in a day at the moment (honest answers please!)

Yesterday was a fairly good day as I had:

  • Large bowl of cereal
  • Soup with 4 pieces of buttered toast
  • Bolognese (2 large servings!)

    But no snacking for once!

    On Sunday, I had:

  • A bowl of cereal
  • Welsh rarebit
  • Roast belly pork with all the trimmings
  • Half a tub of ice cream
  • Fab lollipop
  • 2 pieces of buttered toast

    eek!

Doesn't sound too bad. Yesterday I had cereal with semi-skimmed milk, two pieces of peanut butter on toast, big salad for lunch, massive bowl of ice cream, asparagus risotto and about six chocolate digestives. Average day, I think.

Am 37 weeks, have put on about three stone. Am not worried.

I think that sounds fine. I had:
-Bowl of cereal and glass of orange juice
-banana
-burger for lunch (oops!)
-6 chocolates from a selection box (maybe more)
-twister lolly
-and i would have had fish with sweet potato mash and greens for dinner (just talking about it makes me want it now), but we had a power cut so i had another bowl of cereal some strawberries and then when the power came back on a slice of toast with peanut butter.

so far today I've had porridge and orange juice and have a banana and a punnet of cherries sitting on my desk. But a colleague has brought in biscuits so I might have one of those.

I'm 28 +5 and have put on about 5kg (about 11lb)

I'm 29+4 and yesterday went as follows:

Special K + semiskimmed milk + an apricot
Actimel
Decaf coffee + 1 sugar
Brown Rice with mackerel
Yogurt
Watercress and chicken salad
Nectarine
2 chocolate biscuits

(much healthier day then ususal for some reason!!)

I've put on 9lbs since I was first weighed at 9 weeks but was bordering on overweight before hand so trying consciously not to put on too much more.

Yesterday:

Toasted teacake with margarine
1 slice Jarlsberg cheese
3 large grilled mushrooms with feta and couscous
1 large bag of crisps
Half a burger with bun and cheese, one chicken drumstick and salad (leftover from Sunday BBQ)
1 pistachio Magnum

Yesterday was a very unhealthy day and I felt it!

Have put on 19lb at 27 weeks but my BMI was only 21 before so even with that weight gain, my BMI is only on 25 now desperately tries to reassure self

Sounds fine to me. In 27 weeks and yesterday I ate -

natural yogurt, fruit and oats for breakfast (have this every day)
baguette with ham and mustard for lunch
Half a flapjack
some crisps when I got home, with a bottle of alc free becks
homemade falafel for dinner with hummus, salsa, jalapenos, lettuce and cheese
some pineapple
a slice of freshly made apricot ricotta cake (mmm)
Lots of water

I'm generally eating more.. Having lots of ice lollies at the moment and most days seem to 'need' a snack of a bagel with peanut butter, some crisps or toast. I swim three times a week and do 1 x yoga session, as well as working hard decorating our new house. I haven't weighed myself, but don't think I've put much on

Smerlin, I'm 28weeks and have put on 19lbs too! I was just at the edge of healthy weight (nearly overweight but not quite) so probably shouldn't have put that much on?

Normal day:

Breakfast: Cereal + milk
Lunch: Sandwich + crisps + Banana
Snacks: babybel or two
Something chocolatey - I like twix's or go ahead choc thins
Dinner: pizza + salad/ pasta + salad/ ribs + garlic bread + salad... Etc! Yoghurt or fruit for desert.
Snacks: carrot sticks + hummus

Yea no wonder I'm putting on weight! Yummy though Grin

Ooh and I just put my chefs hat on and swapped my sandwich for a bacon, spinach and low fat garlic and herb cream cheese omlette. It was scrummy Grin

I'm very jealous of some of these menus!

I think it does make a difference when you write down what you've eaten - I generally feel I'm doing ok but some days are horrendous without me even realising it!

So far today I've had:

  • Large bowl of cereal
  • Large tin of beans with one slice of toast and a tomato
  • Tonight will depend on the Tesco delivery as I have nothing else left in the cupboard!

Everyone has good and bad days, and weight gain in pregnancy is normal so don't be too hard on yourself.

I am only around the 4 week mark (just) but ahve been feeling queasy and very bloated so I feel like I can't eat much at all as it's too uncomforatble.

So far today I ahve had

1 Benefit cereal bar.
1 rich tea biscuit
1 peppermint tea
Lunch was 1 tbsp sweetcorn, 3 sticks of cucumber, 2 tbsp beetroot, 1 tbsp cottage cheese, a few bits of lettuce, 3 carrot sticks and an icecream scoop size blob of mashed potato. That made me feel full.

Dinner is supposed to be chicken thai green curry but right now I cannot face the thought of it.

Wow golden you are doing well!! At the beginning of this pregnancy I couldn't even look at food without throwing up. I would eat a piece of toast and a biscuit on a good day! I was overjoyed when my appetite came back!

Wow you lot don't eat much!

I snack almost constantly and then have 3 big meals a day. I have low blood pressure and have to snack and drink lots of water to stop me feeling wobbly. I am 35 weeks and have put on 2 stone.

Today so far I have eaten...
A big bowl of cereal and cup of tea for breakfast
Nectarine, banana, apricot and half a punnet of cherries
Beans and cheese on 2 slices of toast
Bag mini cheddars
3 pints of sugar free squash

There is lots more still to come!!
I am eating what I want, when I want and not worrying about it.

Bentley you make me feel a lot better about what I'm eating. I've noticed a lot of posters seem to be eating a lot less than me.

Heffalump I am fully expecting to feel like that soon, I hit week 5 with DD and threw up at least six times a day, so am expecting the slightly queasy feeling I have now to escalate to full on morning sickness soon. I am eating a bit while I can Grin

I tried to eat some chocolate yesterday and it made me feel so sick, I am devastated, I literally cannot bear the though of chocolate or fizzy drinks, in fact, anything very sweet makes me want to throw up at the moment.

I'm 12 weeks and really struggling to eat. Normally I eat breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, lunch part one, lunch part two, snack, dinner!

Yesterday I managed:

  • 2 bits of toast
  • smoked salmon, 2 poached eggs, cucumber and avocado
  • packet of crisps
  • 12 chips, a little bit of salad.

Can you tell I struggle to eat anything but salty potatoes after noon?!

I can't wait for my appetite to return!

I'm 31 weeks and have no idea how much I have put on as decided not to weigh myself at all this pregnancy. Plenty of time to think about that when the baby is here...

Average day:
Breakfast - granola or muesli with yoghurt, some fruit, cup of tea
Second breakfast - 1 or 2 slices of toast with peanut butter or Marmite
Lunch - sandwich or salad, fruit, maybe packet of crisps, fruit juice
Snack - couple of biscuits & more fruit, and/ or if I am hungry (I am often hungry!) a bowl of bran flakes or toast. Also recently you could add in two or three ice lollies during the day, which are a medical necessity I think...
Dinner - yesterday fish with veg and potatoes, or might be pasta or rice type thing, then yoghurt for pudding, or possibly some chocolate if I can find any...

My BMI was at the higher range of healthy before this pregnancy and when the baby's out I hope to get back to that within a few months.

I do snack and graze a lot and I am certainly eating more than I need to - but I still feel sick if hungry and tbh I really can't be bothered to worry about what I eat - trying to juggle fulltime work, active toddler, etc etc Pregnancy is taxing enough without stressing about food, although I appreciate for some it helps to feel more in control.

This thread totally proves how differently we all metabolise our food and how different people gain weight more easily (or not) and therefore how no one should ever be told they have put on too much or too little!

I have had:
Cup if tea 1 sugar
2 sugar free squash (pint)
Small bowl low sugar muesli
2 biscuits

Dinner will be
Tina fish cake (1)
Portion spinach
Poached egg
raspberries and cream

And that's more or less what I eat each day - rarely breakfast plus lunch, and always try to eat low carb dinner.
And I'm 34 weeks and have put

Sorry stupid iPhone!
34 weeks and have put on 2.5 stone. Was bmi 20 before. And lots of people on here would have me know that I've already gone over my recommended weight gain... But what can I do, I don't eat that much and only bad craving at the mo is chocolate milk, which am trying to limit to one glass a day.

I've had -

2 weetabix
1 cereal bar
Ham sandwich, crisps and 2 celebrations
1 bag crisps

I'm so hungry - I'm 32 weeks and put on almost 2 stone, weight was pretty much under control until 3rd trimester when suddenly I've put on 7 lbs in 2 weeks! I'm constantly hungry all the time....

Report
SeriousStuff · 23/07/2013 22:52

I haven't weighed myself since the 1st trimester - I just can't face it and agree with dont, I'll deal with that after the baby arrives!

Just at 6 weeks and have put on 4lbs already..
Feeling really tired and hungry but no sickness. This is my second and I had no sickness with the first either which I realise is lucky. But I did put on 3 and half stone with no 1 and struggled to get it off-took over a year.
So trying to not eat everything in sight like I did last time!
Today I've had:
2 slices of toast with avocado
2 mocha decaf coffees with skimmed milk
Big salad with hummus and low fat cheddar
3 squares of chocolate
Slice of toast and hummus

Planning on having fish, rice and salad tonight.
