I am 11 + 4 and I am getting weird pains down below. Is this normal? I am also getting random cramps. Constantly knicker checking but no bleed or anything. Is it just normal pregnancy stuff, or is something more sinister going on? Help oh great oracle of MN

Yes, it can be normal stretching. Try not to fret!

I have my first scan on Thursday so I think it's a case of . It bloody hurts though, paracetamol is a waste of time IMO.

The stretching can be a lot more painful than you expect, it's probably nothing if there's no bleed or anything else going on. But it's always worth calling your midwife for a chat even just to put your mind at rest.

I've had exactly the same , i was worried too, but i had my 12 week scan yesterday (an internal) and everything was perfect and the image was so clear. Baby was doing well and moving so much, couldn't believe how much of a baby it is already. I think its all just part of the journey, but every little thing freaks you out! Good luck at your scan :) Its amazing.

Thanks guys. I worry about everything. First it was being sick all the time and then it was because I felt better. There really is nothing you worry more about than pregnancy is there!

Do you think a bath would help?

A bath always helped mine.

Also, you would def know if it was something sinister because your cramps would be more like unbearable pain (significantly worse than period pain) + blood (I had that and miscarried first pregnancy). Mild cramps however are completely normal-I had them this time and am now at 33 wks. Hope that reassures you that yours are normal too!

Good luck and enjoy the scan :-)

By down below, do you mean in your vagina and around the outside? It may be due to extra blood flow around the area can cause a bit of swelling and pain. It normally happens to be just before my period, but get it randomly whilst pregnant too. The cramps are probably round ligament pain where your uterus is stretching. Good luck with the scan.

It's more inside I think. I guess it's only natural bits hurt. I am growing a little alien in there after all.

I totally freaked out both times and had a little panic to the OH. I'm no medical expert but there is some crazy stuff going on inside of us and i guess our bodies are just reacting best they can. When you see the little person on the screen it reasures everything and makes you realise how much work your body is doing on a daily basis without us realising! They really are already little people. Good luck for thursday :)
