Scan update

I posted on Friday about my very disappointing 20 week scan. Baby heffalump did not play ball. They couldn't do the anomaly checks or tell us baby's gender.

We were told we would have to wait until the 14th for a repeat scan, but they have phoned with a cancellation for next week. Unfortunately DH won't be able to be there, but you lovely ladies gave me lots of tips to include him (I'm going to get them to put baby's sex in an envelope and get DH to tell me :) ).

I really don't want a repeat performance of Friday so i was wondering if you have any tips to get baby moving at the scan. Last week I tried jumping, jiggling, eating chocolate, lots of freezing cold water (then nearly wet myself on the way home Blush it was not a good day all round really) we even tried talking to baby! Any tips at all would be really appreciated if there is anything that is known to work?

Thanks!

I hope all goes well for you OP!!

I had a cup of coffee one hour before my scan, most women don't do it but I was desperate for baby to move, and boy did he move, the lady actually pointed out our son punched himself in the face while she was checking everything Grin bless. Anyway, maybe you could give that a try? And some fizzy juice too?

Good luck, please keep updating so we know ThanksThanks

Ps, sex in envelope is a great idea! Thanks

Thanks for your lovely reply :) That made me properly laugh!! How funny!! I looked at the coffee machine while I was there last week but I haven't had caffeine since I fell pregnant and I thought I would be literally bouncing off the walls. I so desperately want them to be able to do the checks and hopefully see the sex I might have to give it a go though! Thanks again :)

Hi heffalump glad to see youve got a scan not too far off! Hope all goes well. Lovely idea about the gender in the envelope, but, just to warn you my friend was going to do the same as her partner wasnt able to attend the scan either, and the sonographer refused to do it. I think its something to do with the possibility of getting the sex wrong as its never 100%.

Hopefully its different where you are and they will do that for you as it would be lovely but just thought id warn you. Hope all goes well and baby is co operative!
