IMO The worst thing about being pregnant is.....

in the early stages, when you're tired and feel (and look IME)like shite no-one offers you any help because without a bump they just don't know you're PG.
Even people who do know don't offer.

But in the late stages when you feel good, aren't tired (well not as much), look lovely and blooming and are enjoying the pregnancy everyone treats you like you're ill.

I can remember saying to various people "Errrr I'm pregnant...not ill" or "I can actually do that myslef you know....!!??"

I want people to do all my jobs now, I can do them when I big and fat but right now the last thing I want to do it cook, clean and supervise the kids.

Rant over.

Ah... the memories....

SoupDragon Mon 22-May-06 18:02:18

Remember - then you have the baby and no one gives a damn about you any more!

outofmyleugue Mon 22-May-06 18:02:44

schneebly Mon 22-May-06 18:03:52

the waiting...9 months is soooo long!

outofmyleugue Mon 22-May-06 18:06:04

with my first her head was sandwiching a nerve between her and my pelvis ,that was fun!

PanicPants Mon 22-May-06 18:08:22

definitly the waiting and the worrying

Kathy1972 Mon 22-May-06 18:09:00

the throwing up. I just want it to stop.

mine was the other way round LTH - I felt AWFUL later on but no-one other than DH and my dad would help.

the first few months (when everyone knew i was pg) I was told constantly to sit down and rest blah blah blah, and I felt fine! I didnt have the sickness or the tiredness early on, but being pg through a HOT summer with a toddlero n the loose really did it for me!

the incredibly weird ailments I seemed to develop in each pregnancy .. stuff that no-one warns you about because its not usual

if I get pregnant I think my leg might fall off ... and I'd go to the doctor only to be told 'aha leg-falling off disease, yes that happens to 1 in 100 pregnant women'

LadyTophamHatt Mon 22-May-06 18:24:52

have you decided on a 3rd yet twigglett....august is approaching fast you know

moondog Mon 22-May-06 18:26:08

LTH,are you pg now??

YellowFeathers Mon 22-May-06 18:26:46

The back/rib ache I'm experiencing and probably will do now for the next 11 weeks

Understand what you mean about the early stages though.

LadyTophamHatt Mon 22-May-06 18:27:17

yes moondog...i am.

thought you knew m'dear.

Twiglett Mon 22-May-06 18:27:24

you know LTH its really weird .. as soon as DH said oh ok then I thought 'oh do I want to do this all again' and decided I didn't

so I've been adamant I don't want another for 4 months

of course I said to DH, 'we're not having another are we' .. and he said 'well we might be .. lets decide in August'

I don't feel broody and think it will be too difficult (with the turkey baster an' all)

Bozza Mon 22-May-06 18:28:10

I think I agree with you LTH. Those early weeks - and I think even people who have been pregnant forget just how tiring it is. With DS I used to go to bed for an hour when I got home from work, get up, eat and go back to bed. With DD that wasn't an option but most evenings so me in the bath with DS!

moondog Mon 22-May-06 18:28:32

No I didn't!!
Hence itchy arse and pyjama comments.

How wonderful for you, remember you saying on more than one occasion you wanted another!
How many weeks are you?
Wonderful news,many congratulations!!

Serendippity Mon 22-May-06 18:30:09

Sickness and the worrying i think. Oh and the heartburn!

LadyTophamHatt Mon 22-May-06 18:30:45

it's not difficult Twig, honest....and I really mena that.

Funny because I felt incredibly broody until I saw that BFP a few weeks back. The shock has lessened now but I'm still completely freaked out by seeing that line come up.

moondog Mon 22-May-06 18:31:27

Not being able to sleep or drink more than a thimbleful of wine (alright then, a couple of thimblefuls....)

me23 Mon 22-May-06 18:31:34

completely agree lth!
feel too weak to do anything at the moment.

me23 Mon 22-May-06 18:33:05

ohh and the heartburn later on...

LadyTophamHatt Mon 22-May-06 18:33:51

LOLOL...moondog I thought you said that because you did know!!

Still very early days, I'm about 7 weeks

expatinscotland Mon 22-May-06 18:52:01

The oedema. I had it SO badly w/both girls, I had to be monitored intensely. I got awful carpal tunnel, my very skin didn't feel like it was mine for all the fluid underneath, I had pins and needles in my limbs the entire trimester.

Then there was the acid reflux.

And the sinusitis.

And my incredible leaking norks.

And piles.

Oh, and I forgot, I puked the first 16 weeks w/both.

Being pregnant SUCKS.
