Is there any point going to the doctor?

I'm 6.5 weeks pregnant and feeling dreadful.

I've had nausea since just before BFP at four weeks exactly and had it about 50% of the time.

With DC1 it was bad from starting at 6 until 12 weeks and then tailed off by 15 weeks. I spent weeks on the sofa.

With DC2 it came and went at seven weeks so I was hoping this would be the same.

DH is doing all the childcare when he gets home because I'm not really capable when feeling like this but he travels a lot so this isn't always possible.

Is there anything I can do/ get?

Hi, don't suffer in silence and go and see the gp. Have you tried travel bands and eating carbs (I lived practically for five months on crusty bread rolls, potatoe waffles on toast and chips - not healthy I know but was the only food that helped and that I could keep down) as eating carbs helped me a lot! I really really do feel for you!! I had it from the start of my pregnancy in sept and it didn't totally go until jan! The joy of starting to feel a bit better daily was the best feeling in the world! Everybody is different and I hope yours doesn't last for long. What really hurt the most is people (non family and friends) not understanding how horrendous it is! I felt like I was dying on some days and couldnt get out of bed! I did see the doc and got prescribed pills and these did help (not totally) but made a slight difference - again pills can work differently on different people and lots of other people had raved about them as it fully worked for them. Def go and see the gp as they might be able to help! Good luck X

Thank you so much.

I'm feeling a bit better today but I think that's because I haven't moved from the sofa and I am DC free until 12.

I've booked the Dr for Monday.

Hope the GP will help. I had pills for my 2nd pg as couldn't cope with a toddler as well. 1st time I was just signed off work for 4months so I just spent most of the time lying down and eating very little. I had 24hr 'morning' sickness and often had to get up in the night to be sick so I know how bad it can make you feel. The pills worked brilliantly for me - took away the constant nausea which was fantastic. I was still sick but not nearly as much. They did make me very sleepy though so be warned! Hope you feel better soon.

Sleepy would be perfect because I also get the delightful pregnancy insomnia!

LOL - yes I did sleep through the night, but I did feel a bit like a zombie when I woke up!

Go along Big and see if they can give you anything - or they may check some of your bloods. My Gyn. also told me that because I am anaemic (despite taking iron) this can make your feel sicker - so maybe worth getting your iron levels checked. I sympathise - I had a shocking time of it until 24 weeks (!!!) but it has eased now until once a week I have 24 hours of general shiteness. S&V pringles saved my life.
