Tiredness and working(10 Posts)
I'm 25 weeks and getting tired again now. I have a cold brewing and just want to hide away! I try to organise very little for weekday evenings at the moment she find I need loads of rest on Saturdays. I'm hoping my energy levels stay ok for the next 3-4 weeks, and that I last out until week 36 at work as planned! Working from home once a fortnight or once a week helps as it takes out the 2.5hr round commute. I hate the travelling when feeling so sleepy! x
I will be 19 weeks tomorrow and am exhausted. I am really lucky and only work 2 days a week. I have started having a nap on the days I'm at home as I have been suffering from insomnia since getting my BFP. There is no way I could function proprly otherwise. Maybe the baby is going through a growth spurt?
Yes! From 6 - 12 weeks I had terrible tiredness but it went away. I'm now 18+3 and it's back with a vengeance. What's worse is, we're in the middle of moving house. We're doing it over a period of a fortnight but it involves 100 mile round trips every few days.
Work-wise I'm very lucky that I work from home but even still, it is affecting my punctuality/meeting deadlines etc...I had a 2 hour nap this lunchtime and now I'm desperately trying to finish things before 5.30pm (just taking a smallish break here now).
If you can't take sneaky naps, my tips would be to eat little but very often, drink plenty and maybe pop out for some fresh air now and again. Smokers can take fag breaks so don't see why you shouldn't be able to take a fresh air break. Snack on high energy foods e.g. bananas, power/cereal bars. Also, you can get some drops and sprays for your eyes to help if they're drying out.
There's no point me telling you to go to bed earlier because if you're like me, you'll lie there for 3 hours then as soon as you drop off you wake up needing the toilet!
Thanks so much - i am trying to get in as much rest now whilst im not working (naps here and there!) so hopefully ill feel revived and energised for when I start work.
I hope you also have enough rest and dont feel so guilty about the washing!
Good luck everyone!
How lovely congratualtions! yes it is tiring and you may find you're really tired for the first few weeks and then I regained my energy from about week 12-17. I think there's just a fine balance between doing what you're capable of and what you used to be capable of! Anyway good luck searching for a job and hopefully you can relax a bit inbetween job search and interviews xx
Hi ladies, im a newbie here!! Just found out 2 days ago im pregnant (for the first time) it was a shock as i was on the pill but me and my husband are thrilled. Im nearly 7 weeks.
I gave up my job about 4 weeks ago and have been searching for a new job ever since. Im dreading the thought of a) starting a new job knowing that I am pregnant and trying to not tell them (i think i would feel really guilty) until after 12 weeks and b) trying hard to prove myself whilst Im sooooooo tired and exhausted!
rant over lol!
Thanks for your replies both you! I think I just started to worry I was overdoing it as yesterday was like trying to be superwoman and think I'm going to have to adjust my routine and reduce my expectations. Yes Kelly my washing basket is also full! I seem to be waking up earlier naturally so maybe I'll do what Hopelass does and get into work early. The only thing on my mind when I get home is food! xxx
Hi there, I am also feeling the same. I am 18 1/2 weeks and in the last week have started to feel very tired and a bit nauseous again - apparently there is a bit of a growth spurt/hormone surge between 16-20 weeks which can leave us feeling a bit ropey so that might be it.
I also do the same as Kelly, I work full time but as soon as I finish I get my feet up and sometimes have a nap for 1/2 hour or so before eating in the evening. I also get to work early so I can leave earlier.
I am going to bed at around 9ish which is so unlike me but it helps!!
you have my sympathy. i am 19 weeks and working 12 hour days. and my work doesn't know i'm pregnant!
as soon as i get through the door i get my feet up, i also make sure i literally do nothing at the weekends and re-charge the batteries.
i have also started leaving dirty washing etc, which is really unike me and kills me - i'm a neat freak. but i just can't do everything!
I'm 19 weeks pregnant and although my energy has been quite good for the last couple of weeks, I am soo tired the last few days! I'm working full time and the juggling of job and house seems a bit of a puzzle sometimes. All I want to do is have a nap. Does anyone else have this or have any tips. I think maybe my blood pressue is a bit low every now and then. Just don't want to overdo it and will make my excuses if I get too tired this week.
Thanks for listening!!
