Just wondering what sort of symptoms people got BEFORE labour started, I know about the show and waters, just curious to see if anything else happens that would give you a clue that labour was only a few days away? Im 37+3 and having alot of poops! Scuse me! And like a stinging sensation....up there....thinking maybe cervix ripening?? Thanks ladies x

I'm 38+6 and I started having the same symptoms! I did speak to the mid-wife about them, she said it sounded like my gearing up, but that there was no sure way of knowing exactly when it would be :(.

Best of luck and hope you don't have too much longer to wait.

I am 39+6 and was just wondering the same thing myself. I have been fine during the day for the past week but in the evenings I've been getting braxton hicks, my bump has been tightening, I've had backache, mild period type pains and have generally been really uncomfortable, even sat on the sofa (only sitting on my ball has helped). But this is only in the evening and by morning I seem to be fine again. Has that happened to anyone else? However, this morning, I've woken up feeling grumpy (despite sleeping on my left all the time, this position gave me backache this morning and I couldn't get comfy), a bit sick, generally a bit unwell, uncomfortable and I'm wondering if this could mean labour is due to start soon? It does seem rather odd as I have been feeling really great up until now. What does anyone think? Really keen to have my baby!

In the last few weeks (around 4wks b4) I had period cramps a lot and backache, braxton hicks increased, was loosing plug in bits. And had looser and more frequent bowels in last 2wks. In the last few days my pains became regular and I got a massive pressure down there. But everyone is dif, some people don't have a single clue then just go into labour. Good luck not too long left now xx

I had Brixton hicks contractions for a week before I had DS, they weren't painful though, I'd just feel my whole belly go rock hard for a minute and then it relaxed again. The day before I went into labour I think I lost my mucus plug thing, there wasn't much, but there was something on the tissue after I'd been to the toilet and wiped!

On the morning I had DS, I woke up after 5am and felt like I had period aches/pains and they gradually intensified into contractions by 6am and I had DS at 11am.

Im just wondering if I'll be pretty much bang on my due date, had a viability scan and was 9 weeks pregnant and they say before 12 weeks all babies develop at the same rate so that's what my 40 weeks was calculated from instead of the last menstrual cycle thing, I feel bad moaning considering im only just past 37 weeks and I feel like I've been pregnant all my life and then I stop feeling sorry for myself when I see lovely ladies as yourself at 39++++! I can't rely on Braxton hicks as a sign coz I've had them since 20 weeks!

Squizzo, I'm like that too. Fine during the day and come evening I feel like I may be going into labour and get my hopes up high, only by morning to be fine! Have no idea when anything will actually really happen!

I had all manner of aches and pains and twinges in the last month.

DS was 10 days late. By the time contractions actually started on 40+10 I was so used to all manner of twinges I didn't even twig. I just kept thinking "oh go away niggly pain, you have been coming every half an hour now!" Confused

Duh. This was despite the fact that I knew I was 10 days overdue and I had even done it all before with DD and knew just what to expect!

I do think you go a bit dotty by the 9th month. I think I had genuinely given up hope that he would ever make an appearance, to be honest. I was going to be the first 15-month pregnancy in obstetric history.

Let's hope your twinges are the real thing!

Good luck!
