Hi, I came off the pill in March. My last period was March 20th (withdrawal bleed) and I haven't had a period since. I took a test two weeks ago and it was negative so don't think I am pregnant but before the pill my periods were like clockwork so it's a little bit strange although I know it can take a few months for your body to find its natural rhythm again. This week, well I'd say last couple of days or so, I have felt really bloated like my stomach is totally bloated and I don't know why as Itill no sign of period. I feel really tired for no apparent reason either and my boobs are sore. I took a First Response test two weeks ago today and was totally negative so I don't believe I could be with child but I still don't feel like my period is on it's way either as I haven't had any cramping etc and I normally get that. I just wondered if anyone had any advice? I think I will start to worry if no period by July. Since I have had no period I haven't ovulated so I can't scientifically be pregnant. Am I right in thinking this? Any thoughts would be much appreciated! Thanks xxxx

Morning! I took a clear blue digital test this morning and it was a BFP and said I was 3 weeks plus. Not sure how they will work my due date or conception date as my last period was march 20th but there must have been a few weeks before I conceived. V shocked this has happened so quickly! I guess I just need to book a doctors appointment now? I still feel ridiculously bloated even when first thing in the morning when my stomach is empty. I normally do quite an intense cardio and weights routine 4 times a week at the gym so not sure if I can continue with that? Haven't been this week as didnt feel my normal self (now we know why!!) but I would like to continue it still. Guess it's ok until you're getting big and heavy. Can't even believe I'm writing this, still so surprised! Xxxx

Yeah book in with the doctors and they will most likely send you for an early scan. Ask about the cardio stuff too x

At this point it's fine to continue your usual fitness regime. Your body will tell you when to slow down later (assuming no complications/issues that mean medical advice is to scale back).

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the congrats! I went to see the doctor last Friday and she said the midwife will call me to book me in. She estimated I was 8 weeks pregnant (simply based on the day of my last period). I don't when the midwife will call or how long to leave it before I call the midwife (The doctor gave me a first pregnancy pack and it included the midwife's number) so not sure if you have any advice on this front?

I have had a number of symptoms. Really bad bloating, wind and also constant all day nausea (yes I am currently one sexyyy lady!). Haven't actually been sick but felt sick all day long and retched a few times. I also have a metallic taste in my mouth.

Sickness isn't as bad today as it has been the past few days. It was awful on Sunday and not great yesterday is this normal at this stage? It's so weird as you just want a scan asap to confirm things don't you! I just don't know when that will be. xxx

As far as I'm aware you have to make your first appointment with the midwife, just call your surgery and ind out

The midwife rang me to make a booking in appointment a week or so after the dr did a urine test to confirm the pregnancy. I suspect it works differently in each area, but if the dr said the midwife will call then I would give it at least a week or so before you ring as they will probably contact you.

Don't worry about sickness/other symptoms coming and going - it happens and is totally normal! And you can keep going with your normal exercise as long as you feel up to it, provided that the dr/midwife hasn't advised you against it.

Thanks everyone for your messages. I haven't told anyone but my partner and parents and one friend. Difficult when you have a 101 questions going round in your head! Haven't heard anything yet but I expect the midwife will call me soon for a booking appointment and then let me know when the first scan date is. I still have pretty much constant nausea and I have started to actually be sick. At work today I have thrown up about 4 times and feel dreadful but I just have to manage as best I can! Just started this job a month ago so don't want to draw attention to myself but it's so hard to hide this constant sickness feeling and then actually being sick. I feel like I am permanently hungover!

Also, I keep stressing about whether my baby is ok and if it's healthy etc? I have read so many horror stories on pregnancy forums about miscarriages and missed miscarriages and how a heartbeat isn't always detected at the first scan. I think I am doing everything I can to ensure my pregnancy is healthy but as it's my first time I don't know if I am doing anything wrong?? Sorry I know I sound crazy xxx

It depends on how your local hospital works. When I was pregnant with DD I had to phone the midwife until after seeing my doctor. Then I kept phoning them because I hadn't heard anything. I didn't realise it was normal for them to take ages! This time my midwife text me with my booking in appointment and scan appointment. I think I just picked a busy time of year with DD, so remember to be patient.
