Help advice needed NOW! Cat poo 18 wks pg!

Just walked in and cat has shit on bed!!!!! Never ever happened before and she's 5 years old. Anyway what's the danger with cat poo and pregnancy... I'm obviously desparate to get rid of it but not sure if I need some kind of nuclear protection!

Help me please!

Just wear gloves and wash your hands afterwards.

Its unlikely to have anything nasty in it anyway.

there is a risk of toxoplasmosis so if u need to shift it, put rubber gloves and make sure u wash your hands thouroughlly afterwards.

Recommended that someone else clean cat litter trays (i think)

other should change cat box if you have one.

I got rid of it with the aid of thick rubber gloves! I'd mistakenly locked the cat in the house so she couldn't make the usual dash out the cat flap!

well you've obviously cleaned it up by now (!) but have been told by midwife that having been or being a cat owner means you are highly likely to be immune for toxoplasmosis (I am - cat owner & immune. It's always tested 1st trimester here in Portugal)However I do have a friend who's a vet who is not immune - she did carry on practising with no problems throughout both pg's

toxoplasmosis can be in cat poo, but it is very very unlikely your fit healthy cat is excreting it.
The poo also needs to be old poo, about 24hrs ols IIRC to be of dnager.
If you cleaned it up and used gloves/washed hands well, then I wouldn't give it another thought TBH.

I work with animals and 5 of us were preg at pretty much the same time. None of us had anti-bodies to toxo which means none of us had been in contact with it enough to get infected. We all handle cats on a daily basis, so it really isn't something to be really really worried about IMO.
