How late can I fly when pregnant?

Me and the DH need to go and spend some time with the in laws in Jersey before this baby arrives after we finish teaching at the end of term. I'm hosting my mum's 60th on July 13th so I don't want to leave until the monday 15th July. My official due date is 19th August according to the scan (even though on LMP dates it is 25th August on the NHS online calculator, or 26th if you ask my midwife?!). So my question is does anyone know can I fly BA to Jersey (only half an hour flight) on July 15th and how long can I stay? We think the latest I can travel is 22nd July but not feeling confident enough to book it!

Most airlines it's 36 weeks, though some do say 34 weeks. I think BA are up to the end of 36 weeks with single pregnancies. After 28 wks you'll need a 'fit to fly' note from your doctor dated within the last week. Some GPs charge for this though, so best check. If you have any health problems though you won't be able to, so might be best to book nearer the date (a pain I know as it can get much more expensive)

I think you'll need to check with BA - as it's such a short flight then I think you'll find it'll be 36 weeks - and you can check what sort of 'fit to fly' letter you need.

Or you could go by ferry?

But either way, can I remind you that there s no NHS in the Channel Islands, so make sure you have health insurance that covers both you and the baby in case of early delivery.

Just google it! All the airlines have their policies about this online, although you might want to put a call into your insurer to check about flying that late. Sounds like a nice trip - love Jersey!

As above says airlines have their policies on line now but to add a note of caution
The end of the 36th week is actually 35+5 rather than 36+6

i know easyjet is up to 28 weeks without a docs note, but u can fly later up to the end of 35 weeks with a docs note. ill be 30 weeks when i fly x
