Possible bleed at 8 weeks?(6 Posts)
Just been to the loo and noticed browny discharge ( sorry for oversharing!) its very minimal but went on a longish walk today and felt lots of pain in my tummy, thighs and back but put it down to activity after a few weeks of not doing much at all. I'm all worked up and worried now and can't calm down. I know a little bleeding can be normal but I'm terrified and my next scan isn't for 4 weeks. I can't stand four weeks of excitement and anticipation just too find out something terrible has happened. Scared as this is my first pregnancy and it was fluke. I was told it would be very difficult to naturally conceive due to PCOS, so am surprised but over the moon to find myself in this situation. We saw the heartbeat at 6 weeks due to early scan as I was suffering Hyperemesis. My sickness has really dropped off now, its still occasionally bad, but much less noticeable. I don't know if this is down to my anti emetics or something being wrong. Sorry for the rambling, I just feel lonely, worried and scared right now. Dp being very pragmatic about it but don't know how il sleep tonight.
It's pretty common and seen as your round the 8wk mark, it could be some old menstrual blood, I got told you can get some spotting near times when AF would have been due, so could it possibly be that? I've had bleeding in all 3 of my pregnancys (all was ok) but please do ring your gp/midwife tomorow if your worried, just to put your mind at rest. Cause I know that worrying is awful. Hope your ok xx
I know exactly how you feel right now but please don't panic. Brown means old blood which I am told is 'better' than bright red blood. Has it stopped? Was it just a bit when wiping?
To put your mind at ease I would give your midwife a call in the morning, she may suggest a trip to the EPU for another reassurance scan.
I had a bright red bleed last week, at 8 weeks. Had a scan the following day & saw baby. I've had 2 small bleeds since, one being this morning, and have called my midwife for advice. She's told me not to worry as the bleeds have been small (even though they are bright red) but to keep an eye on it, which I have as I now check every 30mins throughout the day like a woman possessed!
I would also mention the pain to your midwife, as you say it's probably from your walk but make sure you do tell her. As you say, 4 weeks of waiting & worrying won't be good either and a scan will put your mind at ease again.
Thank you! I know worrying won't solve anything but arrrrgghh can't stop. Don't have a direct midwife contact ( still waiting on my date letter to come through!) but have some numbers on my discharge papers from hospital stay for HG so might call them in the morning. Don't have menstrual periods due to my PCOS so any bleeding is a bit odd for me. I've put a pad on to keep tabs on any further bleeding and hopefully will get a reassurance scan sorted. Thank you ladies for kind words and gl with the rest of your pregnancy! Sleepless night ahead but hopefully I'll speak to someone in the morning. Think I just needed a little hand holding! To think 4 weeks ago I would have laughed in your face if you'd told me id be sat up in bed worrying about my future child!
I had to have an early scan at 6wks because of bleeding & another at 7wks. At my 7wk scan they noticed I had blood next to my sac left over from implantation, they said I would probably get spotting from this & Ive had brown smearings of blood nearly every other day the last 3wks. Its still scary every time I see it but tell myself its just the blood next to the sac leaving my body. So maybe when you went for your 6wk scan an implantation bleed didnt show because mine didnt till 7wk scan. Before I went for my 1st scan my friend spoke to her midwife friend for me& she said at least 1 in 6 women she sees at 8-12 weeks reports some level of bleeding so it is really common.
brown blood is old blood hun I bled brown blood for 7 weeks I am now 15 weeks and have finally stopped bleeding mine was due to a bleed outside the sac I had 4 scans in the first 12 weeks and many sleepless night for nothing! please try not to panic as hard as it is as it could be nothing good luck xx
