Round ligament pain

I was wondering if there is someone else who is dealing with round ligament pain?

It started for me Monday morning. I thought it was appendix, but after half an hour to an hour it was gone..
Saw my specialist that morning and she said it might be the ligaments.

The next day it was so bad the pain in my right side I couldn't walk nor roll on my side. My husband had to help me dress.
Called my doctor and she said to come in right away.
The pain lasted all day. Especially it was bad when I sat down and then get up.

She did an ultrasound and my organs on the right side are fine.
So the only thing it is, is the round ligament.

I still have pain when I sit and then get up. Or when I'm close to going to the washroom..

Due to working in an office where I have to serve clients and get up a lot, the doctor put me on sick leave. So I will not return to work. As I will start my mat leave early then, once I'm eligible..

Anyone else dealing with these pains?? And what did you do or doing to ease the pain?

Oh I'm 21 weeks pregnant with my first one..

I had some round ligament pain in my first pregnancy at around 18 weeks. It only lasted a couple of weeks whilst the ligaments got used to the pregnancy growing. It was intermittent but worse on standing and sudden movement.

It did go off after a couple of weeks though and I would really wait see how they are in a week or so before deciding you are now not going back to work, seems a bit of a waste to start maternity leave early. If it is round ligament pain its just your body getting used to the pregnancy and should wear off soon.

I agree with above poster, if you get signed off work then that's fine. Work can't do anything about that, they can force your mat leave till four weeks before EDD. So you can techincally be signed off till then. So don't feel forced to take mat leave early.

I have this pain and I'm only 13 weeks, hope it gets better for you soon
