Help - I've come over all funny !!!

Help - I've managed to drop of DS1 at pre-school but on the way there came over all funny.
I felt as if i was going to fall, had trouble standing up! I grabbed onto a low fence to steady myself. Luckily someone was walking along the same path and stopped to make sure I was O.K. Somone has dropped me off home, but I still have to pick up DS1 as he is going through separation anxity and won't come home with anyone else.
Has anyone ever had this happen to them?
I'm 31 weeks and so have got the best part of two months to go. I'm also low on iron - has that got anything to do with it?

You are probably a bit anaemic. I have fainted a few times this pregnancy, I think it prob normal. Could be blood pressure. Why not call your midwife or Doc.

Could be. What else have you eaten? Are you eating enough?

I get v dizzy going round shops (esp supermarkets). My iron levels are fine, so I assume it's something else (dunno what). I think dizziness is pretty common in pg, only a prob is you fall v. heavily. I find eating something, if only a sweet, helps. (I'm 19w BTW)

I had this when pregnant - it is very frightening. Docotr recommended Spatone (better than iron tablets as you don't get the side effects) also kept a bottle of orange juice with me when out to raise blood sugar levels if I began to feel dizzy.

Thanks for your quick responses ladies!
I'm munching on a sandwich as I type. It could well be that I haven't eaten as well as I should.
I've also had my dose of iron tablets. I think I'll have something sweet as well. Am seeing the Doctor on Thurs but should I wait until thurs or ring him now?

this happened to me a couple of weeks ago: I'm pretty sure it was because I hadn't eaten. I usually carry a pack of dried apricots with me at all times for such emergencies, but had forgotten.

Hi Sunita

This happened to me with both DSs. Once rather frightningly when i was driving. I put it down to low blood pressure that i had with both or how babe was lying It was an awful feeling. have a chat with ur midwife.

hope you are feeling better

Hi Sunita- I am 30 weeks pg and I've had this a few times. I'm not aneamic either, so I know it's not that. Sometimes it goes away when I eat something and sometimes it doesn't. But it is a bit frightening at times. I have mentioned it to my mw before but she's not too worried. She says it could be a sudden drop in blood pressure or a surge of pregnancy hormones. I hope you are feeling a bit better now.

You could always pop into the July antenatel thread to have a good natter if you need to!
