Stomach cramps and trips to the loo after eating at 10 weeks

My morning sickness has finished but has been replaced with this new kind of hell.

I don't understand what's happening. I assume this is what IBS is like? I get really bad stomach cramps about 15-20mins after eating or drinking like I have diarrhoea but its not diarrhoea. It's also replaced my morning vomit. I literally run to the bathroom with stomach cramps now.

Does anyone else get this? I had something similar when pregnant with dd (my first pregnancy), but I was living abroad then, and had put it down to dodgy food. That lasted until about week 25 and then we came back to the UK and it stopped. But these cramps are exactly the same as the ones I had with dd.

Anyone have any advice about what I can do to stop this? I have a wedding to go to on Saturday and don't want to run to the toilet everytime I eat or drink. TIA.

I'm only 5 weeks but I've had cramps for a week, more like heartburn or acid stomach type pain, together with bloatedness and either constipation or diorrhea, which is supposedly normal but pretty awful. Is that the sort of thing you've got? I haven't had any nausea yet though.

I don't think it's heartburn type pain, because I had really bad heartburn with ds and I never got digestive cramps. It's more like stomach turning cramps like the contents of my stomach just swishes around. Maybe it is something to do with acid build up. It's just annoying and strange it's replaced the ms. Hope you enjoy this time before the nausea kicks in (if it does, hopefully it won't!)

Probably a strange question, but are you taking any vitamins? I took pregnacare in the first 12 weeks and took it with breakfast instead of with my evening meal as directed. I had started having excruciating IBS and was really miserable for weeks, but just decided that pregnancy had triggered it. I eventually googled it and read somewhere that pregnacare had upset some other people, so I started taking it in the evening. The cramps stopped the next day and I haven't had them since.

Do you actually have the runs, or are the poos normal? Could it be trapped wind or even constipation? I had awful trapped wind when pregnant. Peppermint tea and walking helped.

Baby, I'm not taking vitamins, well I'm supposed to be on 5mg frolic acid and take it every few days or so when I remember. I took it religiously throughout my last pregnancy and had no problems so can't blame it.

Bonzo, no I don't have the runs. It's (eek tmi!) softer than usual definitely but I wouldn't call them runs. I get trapped wind too but getting rid of it doesn't alleviate the cramping. It's like I have to empty my bowels every time I've eaten. I think I'll give peppermint tea a try to settle my stomach

I keep thinking about a thread I read on here about a woman eating her food on the toilet because of IBS. I don't want that to be me in a few weeks time!

I've had that on and off throughout this pregnancy (my 2nd) and I'm 30 weeks. If you're really concerned I'd mention it to the midwife and see what she says. You could be fighting off a bug. All you need is a bit of acid or wind in your intestines and it can feel like snakes crawling in your belly. My whole digestion has been shot for weeks.
