Is this normal after a sweep?

I am 39+ 5 and had a sweep on Tuesday. I bled a fair bit afterwards but it stopped after a couple of hours. Woke up yesterday to a bit more brown blood but that stopped. Wasn't concerned as I know VEs can cause some bleeding for a while.

Today, though, I've just lost a ton of pink-streaked mucus. I can't decide if this is my 'show' or still left from the sweep.

Doc said sweep was unlikely to be successful. I'm not overdue but baby is measuring large and I had PE with DD, so we'd like him to come soon to avoid BP problems. I was 50% effaced and 1cm dilated (but this is DC2 so some dilation is to be expected). I was induced due to PE with DD, so late pregnancy is a mystery to me!

Any ideas? Due a MW appointment on Saturday (due date) and in two minds about asking for another sweep as it was pretty unpleasant!

It does sound like you have had a show that's how mine went after my sweep ( I was told mine was successful as I was already 2-3cms, that's was on my due date 10 days ago) but I noticed that it took a couple of days for it to come away fully so maybe keep an eye on it, you can always ask for an examination to see if you have dilated anymore before they do the sweep and make your mind up from there.
Good luck!

Thank you. Having lots of BH today but nothing else. Will probably go for it on Saturday - anything to avoid the drip this time!

Was the drip bad? I've no idea how they are going to start me lol x

It wasn't too bad IMO. Managed without an epidural and had a short second stage. I only want to avoid it as I'd like to experience what 'normal' contractions are like and to be more active (had continuous monitoring, so found it hard to move around)!

When are they wanting to induce you?

Getting induced on Saturday disappointed I couldn't go by myself but also don't think I can hang on any more either ill be 12 days overdue by then! I'm like you I'd like to experience it for myself. Good luck for Saturday! X

Good luck for Saturday to you too! You never know though, you might still go on your own.

I'm with you on not going more than 12 days over. I know expectant management is an option, but it doesn't appeal to me!
