Hi folks, just for info...saw my mum today who apparently has taken up chaining the lack of maternity clothes on the high street after a particularly stressful trip with me last week...anyway...she accosted a manager in primark on Saturday and apparently they ate starting to stock maternity wear over the next few weeks...now whether this is in all stores or just the bigger ones i have no idea but thought i would share as i find mothercare to o ly have a very small selection and mamas. And papas exceptionally over priced and thought others may fand it helpful

That's a good move from primark. I'm mainly in h&m mama which is available in our local store. The only clothes shop within a 2 hour drive that stocks maternity wear. Hope it comes into Primark Bristol soon.

I had trouble on the M&P site finding sizes 16-18-20 so e-mailed them asking if they are permanently out of stock. Turns out they are discontinuing those sizes. Some stores may still have them in but they won't be available in the next season.

The available range is really poor in sizes 18+. I bought a pair of 20 mat jeans from next, when new season released, by the time they'd arrived and I established they fitted they were out of stock and no new stock arrived.

Ooh that's great, was meaning to go to Primark to get some cheap big non-maternity clothes but if they are doing maternity even better. Will either go to Tottenham Court Rd one or Oxford St and update if I remember.

I quite like the stuff H&M do (got some nice bright corduroy maternity trousers the other day) but their stuff is a bit pricey at the moment which I think is to do with the weakness of the £.

Most stores stop at a size 16 and it really annoys me! Considering the average woman is a 14-16 you would think stores would think.on that they will need bigger sozea when pregnant!!

There ia a massive shortage of shops that stock maternity wear full stop let alone affordable stuff. I am in my mid 30's and way beyond some of the young trendy stuff that h&m stock and the really nice non jeans and t shirt stuff in new look is mega bucks. As this is the only time i will ever need i object to paying 3 time the price just cos its baby related.

Why is it retailers think adding the words baby or wedding mean they can add 50% to the price...its practically a licence to print money.
