anyone self referred to Kingston hospital?

We just moved house and I've noticed yet managed too get to the local docs to register (teeny opening hours and job not very close). I'm now at 9+3 so really want too get my booking in appt sorted and the 12 week scan arranged. We did an early scan which was great, but still need all this other stuff to be initiated.
I filled out and sent back the form on wed last week, and now find myself checking my inbox an awful lot.

Has anyone else self referred, either there or elsewhere, and what was the process? Am I likely to be waiting ages, or need a long time line on the scan appt?

I'm not actually stressing (people must have done this for eons without all the care now available), i just don't want to join the party late [grin

Thanks for any advice

I didn't, but just to say they told me I shouldn't have waited for the docs - I only managed to get a docs apt when I was 10 weeks (had been on xmas hols and phoned up as soon as back but that was the first one I could make), so my scan date was later than 12 weeks. They said I should have just referred myself. They are jolly nice there though :-)

Hi lexib, be great if you could also post this query on Mumsnet Local Kingston, I bet others have been in your position. As the Editor of this new Local site, the aim is for talk threads like this to create active chat amongst people living locally.

sailinggirlie do either of you visit the Local KT site by the way? Interested in hearing feedback to make it somewhere you'd like to spend time.

Yes because i found out I was pg just before Xmas and couldn't get an appointment with gp for ages. It worked out fine just let your new gp know you have done this so they know you are getting the care you need. You can self refer via their website and then email on the form.

Forgot to say you don't normally hear anything for a couple of weeks. If in doubt call them to make sure your details are on file. Just to warn you they seem v busy and under staffed at the moment though...
