Just curious - had awful bump top pain at 36 weeks but stopping gaviscon seems to help. Eating porridge and milk a lot instead.

I should explain I'm talking about water retention stretching the tummy caused by the salts in the gaviscon - not reflux which gaviscon sorted nicely. But I'd rather have the reflux.

Is the pain under your ribs?

I try to avoid taking medicines if possible and heard a bit about the salts in Gaviscon so wouldn't touch it.
A tiny bit of Apple Cider Vinegar in a glass of water does the trick lovely for sorting reflux - is completely natural and healthy :)

Sort of - more to the point it's at the top of my bump and it felt like my tummy was going to split open. Bump just too big and painful. By far the worst pain of pregnancy - scary and hard to rationalise - so thought I'd get it out there as i seem to have a solution - don't overdo salts.

For anyone reading this thread in future the gaviscon link is bollocks it turns out. The only thing that helped was going bra less and that has helped quite a lot. Also no more trousers for me as I have to cinch them
Round my narrow hips with a belt - just loose dresses.

But it turns out I have polyhydramnios - excess amniotic fluid. So that's what is was.
