I'm 35+2, when I saw my MW at my 34 week appointment she was feeling for position and I pointed out a big lump near my belly button. At my 31 week appointment she was certain baby was head down but this lump has been there for a while.
So I said Do you think it's a bottom? and she thought it might be a head. Basically if its still there at my 36 week appointment on Tuesday I'll be off for a scan. In the mean time I'm rocking on this gym ball (yup right now!) to try to turn it round!
Anyone else in the same position or have wisdom of experience?

Not sure that this counts as wisdom but from 37 weeks with DD I kept saying I thought she was breech. From then until she was born at 40 +2 two midwives, my GP and DH (a paediatrician) all said her head was down. I got to the hospital just in time to push and she was indeed breech (midwife realised when DD poo'd at her 
), so I was right all along. We were lucky. A consultant obs was on that night who was very experienced in breech delivery. She was also tiny (5lb 12) and she is my second so that made a difference and she flew out in 2 pushes. DH was bloody glad he didn't end up delivering her in the car (he was quite relaxed about a cephalic presentation but would have panicked if he'd seen bum!). Had we known we would have gone for a c section.
Ironically a midwife did get concerned about presentation when I had DS (my first) and sent me for an extra scan to check but his head was well and truly down!
I was permanently on the ball/on all fours playing with DS in the weeks leading up to birth but clearly none of that made a bit of difference.

Well...I was told by several different mws and 2 doctors that dd2 was breech. I wasn't scanned because I was booked for an ELCS anyway so there wasn't any point...until I went into labour at 37 weeks. I was scanned...and she wasn't breech at all! She just had (and 7 months later still has) a very bony bum

Same here!! Dc3 has been on the 'diagonal' as both other dc were but they both settled head down. I know this one is not head down as u get a weird 'pouchy' bit of skin where a head should be 
28 and 32 weeks midwife had student do both facing a good old feel both agreed transverse/on diagonal, had consultant spot at 34 weeks with scan then beech and today midwife 'no I am certain he is head down' just as he had hiccups just under my ribs so she put 'unstable lie' on my notes!!

This baby has at least 4 legs, 4 arms, 4 heads and 4 bums 
(and it's definitely just one in there). I've got no end of lumps and bumps poking out of me - it's been quite alarming tonight!
My last appt (36 wks), the midwife wasn't 100% that he was head down, although he had been definitely at 34wks. I think he probably is because most of the moving lumps are at the top of my bump so I think it's all elbows & knees. He's not engaged though - second baby, could be anything right up to labour apparently.
The doctor thought I was twins at one point when my mum was pregnant because of my bony bum!
