I am 5 weeks and 2 days and I have just been to the loo and when I wiped there was a browny coloured blood there (sorry if tmi) I have rang the hospital and they have told me to rest for today and go in tomora for a scan.
But I can't rest cos I am so scared that I am losing th baby as I have had 2 miscarriages before.
It doesn't feel the same this time but just wanna know if anyone else had this and what it could be if not a miscarriage. X

Could it be implantation bleeding?

Brown blood isn't fresh, so I'd take the hospital's advice as much as you can.

Fingers crossed for you.

I think it's too late for that as the doctor said I had that 3 weeks ago when I thought I had a period x

I had this at 6 weeks - i had a scan (transvaginal) and all was fine - it was old blood coming out as the uterus expands. I got terrible period pains with mine - so was upset. Scares the life out of you - I also had a mc before - so i was also extremely anxious. Try to rest up and if you have a scan booked for tomorrow then concentrate on that - if you get worried call them back, or go in, that is what they are there for.

I had brown blood at 6 weeks, went in for a scan the next day and saw a heart beat and everything was fine. They suggested implantation bleeding.

I had browny blood around the 5 week mark - i didn't realise i was pregnant at the time and thought it was my period about to start.

My fingers are also crossed for you.

I had this with both (successful) pregnancies. The first time it was accompanied with awful cramping and I'd given up hope, but saw heartbeat at just shy of 6 weeks.

This time there was only a small amount of brown discharge around the same time and I didn't follow it up as it stopped very quickly. Am 37 weeks.

I hope things turn out well for you x

Good luck for tomorrow, take it easy today and try to take your mind off it (hard, I know), perhaps some DVDs?

Thank you all for your supportive words. I am all curled up on the sofa watching a DVD and trying to think about it. My DH has said he is staying home tomora to come with me so that makes me feel a lot better as I did think I had to go on my own which was also scaring me.
Thanks again, its so good to be able to come on here and get the advice and support of people going thru the same things. I dunno what is do without all your support probably drive myself crazy x

I have had his with all four of my pregnancies. Two ended sadly in miscarriage, one ended in the birth of my DS and the other is still ongoing - I am 37+3 and all is well. Until the scan there is simply no way of knowing. The good news is that brown blood is old blood so unless it starts to become red it is a positive sign. The best thing you can do is rest at the moment and try to stay calm. Thinking of you, I know how scared and desperate this feels.

I had this every week for the first few weeks - was ectropian cervix - I'm now 39 weeks with IVF baby.

My doc gave me Gestone injections but said unless it was red fresh blood it was fine. Also told me the gestone doesn't even prevent miscarriage, it just stops any odd spotting for peace of mind (although for me it didn't stop it anyway!) Could be the same thing, where some womb tissue is growing outside cervix and can bleed at the slightest thing all the way through pregnancy. Has absolutely no bearing on the pregnancy luckily.

Good luck and hope all goes well with the scan Grin

Good luck x

I had this too, with my first pregnancy, and she is now 15 months. I think spotting and bleeding in pregnancy is more common than people think.
Fingers crossed for you.

i think its quite common, i hope that puts your mind at rest, but please keep us updated x
