Stupid pregnancy worries?

Hi all

I'm hoping someone can put my mind at rest. I am 16 weeks pregnant with DC2.

I've had hyperemesis, which has now eased off to an occasional bout of sickness, which is a blessed relief. I have put on weight around my middle but don't have a bump yet, I've had a little movement but nothing definite (bit early I think) and my 12 week scan and nuchal tests went well.

However, somehow I can't stop worrying that something is wrong or I'm going to lose the baby. I wasn't overly worried with DC1 (who is now a fabulous 2 year old!) and I'm beginning to think that the knowledge I gained in my first pregnancy about the risks and problems is making me over sensitive this time around.

My main concern is I keep getting pulled muscle pains in my abdomen. They are like stretching pains, but I thought I'd be past it now. That, coupled with the extreme sickness and the fact that I feel pretty rubbish most of the time still is making me worry.

I should say, I'm not gripped by anxiety. I just have this nagging worry in the back of my mind. I will mention it to the midwife when I see her today, but she isn't overly sympathetic generally. Am I worrying over nothing?

I think so - aren't you experiencing round ligament pains or is the pulling somehow different?

As you've been pregnant before I think your body warms up much quicker, it could be the pulling pains are even BH? They are contracting all the way through your pregnancy but you can only feel them later on, but perhaps because you've been pregnant before they feel stronger sooner?

I see children as being a constant worry... From conception until they're 100... I used to think "I feel worried now, I'll feel worried then... Why waste my life worrying?" ... I will worry when I am told to xxx

I had period like pains from 12 weeks always worrying and constantly thought there was something wrong.. I also didn't feel any definite movement until about 23 weeks so quite late !!
I went to my doctor about the pains and was told that there normal stretching pains can continue through pregnancy often worse at the start and end, but some women feel them throughout like I did (I'm now 39weeks) apparently the pains can be worse with second baby as well..
Try not to worry (I know it's hard !!) but I'm sure everything will be fine.. I was that worried about my baby that I rented a Doppler fetal heart rate monitor from eBay for £9.95 a month and it put my mind at rest when ever I worried about baby and movements might be an idea for other nervous mummy's too ?

Oh, thank goodness for that! You have really reassured me, thanks so much. I seem to have forgotten everything from my first pregnancy, so I don't even remember if I felt like this the first time around!

Ooooh, sneazing or coughing lying down is mega painful and am only 7 weeks. I thought it should hurt less with number 2 as body recognises what to do? Can completley understand fears as am more anxious (I think) this time partly as I learned a lot first time round and partly as I think I forgot about most things except how bad the sickness was. Am sure you will be fine but have remembered that there s no point that you stop worrying about it.
