Freaking out!

Evening ladies! Basically I'm sat here freaking out. I had my BFP yesterday afternoon with first response (couldn't wait until 1st morning urine) and another BFP with a clear blue digital this morning. My DH and I have been trying for 3 years and I'm a massive mixture of emotions! I'm too scared to be excited, have I somehow got a false positive? My boobs are VERY sore, but no other symptoms, which is worrying me too!
My biggest worry is I had quite a lot to drink last weekend. It was my sis-in-laws 40th birthday and I haven't had a drink since last summer. As we've been trying for 3yrs, I was convinced my period was coming so thought I'd have a drink or 5. Now I'm pregnant, what have I done?! I was also due on that day and didn't want to come on at the party so used a tampon - bad I know!
Sorry for the long post, but everything is swimming through my head and it's too early to tell anyone "real" yet! Argh! Please help xxx

Hi
I have been through exactly the same I did a test and it was positive then the docs was negative but they just took mine as said clear blue is more sensitive than theirs. I was also at a wedding 2 days before and drank a lot!!!
I was freaking out that I have had a false positive but my doc says it is so rare that she wouldn't consider it. I am having a scan at 6 weeks (a week and half away) so I don't think I'll be convinced until then.
I hope u can relax soon and enjoy it but just wanted u to know ur not the only one having these feelings x

That's really helped a lot. I'm tempted to contact google and ask them to ban me for the next 8 months or so. The stories I'm finding are really not helping! But you have calmed me down, it's always nice to know you're not alone. Thank you xxx

Hi I had exactly the same freak out 2 weeks ago so can relate. The chances of one false positive are remote never mind 2.

I was worried about a considerable amount I'd drank (following a false negative) but got loads of advice from people here. The baby is quite self contained in the first couple of weeks and so isn't attached to your blood supply yet - a big relief! As long as you stop now there's no cause for concern.

I had an early scan today at 6 weeks & everything is as it should be - even saw a little heartbeat (shit just got real).

Try to relax & not worry, you'll settle down & get the excitement soon enough.

Like I said I'm 6 weeks & my only symptoms are irritability (according to DP), wind Blush, spontaneous crying & a bladder that's always ready to go. No sore boobs or ms or anything here & am all on track, so no worries there for you either.

Congratulations!

Congratulations! So easy to freak out, but if you can, just enjoy it - you just got TWO bfp's! Yay!

I know so many people who had the booziest conceptions and following weeks, including a friend who didn't find out she was pg until nearly 5 months (what the what?!) and who boozed and fagged and partied up till then. All babies beautiful and healthy. As far as I understand it, until the placenta forms baby isn't really taking the nutrients directly from you yet anyway, so don't worry.

Good luck and enjoy! x

  1. dont worry about lack of symptoms-you're still very early to be having too many - plenty of time for them to hit yet, or not if you're lucky.

  1. chance of 1 false positive-slim. chances of 2? doubtful.

  1. drinking early on - try not to worry. many a baby has been conceived after a night out/honeymoon/wedding night etc

  1. enjoy EVERY minute - its magical, truly magical. I waited 6 years and ended up with ivf but my little miracle is 12 weeks old now and time really does fly. at the time I thought pregnancy was endless and couldn't wait to meet my longed for baby but the night he arrived I remember looking at him and wondering how it ONLY takes 9 months to make him. I repeat - enjoy every single minute.

good luck x

Thank you all SO much, from the bottom of my heart for your responses, it's very much appreciated. I'm blaming the hormones for the fact that I've got tears in my eyes reading all your comments! God help the hubster over the next 8 months! It's really helped to set my mind at rest, knowing that the chances of any harm to my little squiggle are minimal - no alcohol has passed my lips since! It's been a long 3 years of trying, so I'm determined to do everything I can to keep this little miracle safe. It's slowly starting to sink in...very slowly! Xx

I am going to do the same cos I am sat her bubbling like a baby reading all the responses. It's so nice to know we not on our own with this one. I also went through google and absolutely terrified myself because of the stories but as husband said people don't always post when they have a true positive but if they have a false one they will beige likely to xxx

Congratulations! ! I wouldn't worry about the drinking...we've all done it and I read that its not coming from your blood supply at that stage so no worries! Second joining a thread and sharing experiences. I didn't have symptoms until 8 Weeks apart from sore boobs, then just a touch of nausea so you don't need to be sick to be pregnant x!
