BH stopped at almost 39wks...

Baby #2 and have been having lots of BH over the last three weeks: every time I walk, and fairly regularly whilst not walking. Pretty intense at times.

Anyhow, am almost 39wks and haven't had any today. Not one. Baby was checked yesterday and is fine, and has been moving as normal today. I've been no more or less active than normal.

Is this normal? Never really got any with #1 so have nothing to compare it to...

If baby is moving as normal, it doesn't sound like anything to worry about. Perhaps baby has shifted position slightly? Or maybe this is the calm before the storm, and you're about to go into labour? Fingers crossed!

Thanks: why do I only notice/experience things like this in the middle of the night??!

And yes: am crossing everything (except my legs ;) ). Am very much ready to have this baby now...

That's interesting. I am 34 weeks and have BH pretty much constantly and some are intense. I'll watch out for them stopping near the end.
Let us know if they come back or turn into real labour!
All the best for the birth

Well it was sort of a sign...

BH didn't come back until late Tuesday evening, when they were different to before (more painful than 'heavy'). By doctor's app on the Wednesday I was 2cm (so they were probably early contractions rather than BHs), and I went into 'proper' labour late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning. DS was born on Thursday afternoon :)

So I think it was the calm before the storm for me...

Congratulations on you ds!

This sounds interesting for me. I had noticed my bh had stopped or certainly got less the beginning of this week. All my 'bh' now seem painfull and coupled with mild back ache. Only having a couple a day but sounds promising for me. I'm 37w today this is second dc next mw app is friday. Dc1 was 10days overdue .

Congratulations!
I am on first pg and didn't realise until I read your description of BH that it what I've been getting. Especially when walking, it feels very tense and almost like I've a stitch and have to stop walkiing for a minute until it goes!
I'm 32 weeks.
All the best with baby.

Congratulations!
I'll be watching out for them stopping - no sign of that as yet but only 36 weeks :)

I didn't get them first time around, but have done this time. Was wondering if they might stop, or just sort of gradually become actual contractions.
So thanks for coming back and letting us know.
And congrats on your new DS!
