Just had 20 week scan which showed a girl after having two boys!

Can't believe that they told me it was a girl today! Didn't want to get my hopes up but really was hoping for a girl. Convinced after two boys that it would be a hat trick, but no! So chuffed I'll have a daughter to complete the family unit. For all those in a similar situation with similar posts, it can and does happen!

Make sure you get a second look if you can - I got told ds2 was definetly a girl..the consultant insisted he'd never been wrong in 15 years..lo and behold an extra scan a few weeks later showed she was clearly a he!

Do you think a family unit is not complete without a child of each gender? I don't understand what the point of the thread is...you want congratulations on the gender of your child? Oh well done you. Confused

I think PuffPants that the clue was in the op. She was hoping for a girl. Glad you're pleased Katy. Smile

Thanks for the negative comment PuffPants and for trying seemingly to spoil my joy. I don't believe at all that you need either sex to complete a family unit, but it completes mine personally (I lost a much longed for daughter) Not that I should need to explain it. I hardly ever post on here these days and it's people like you that spoil it for everyone, if you can't say anything nice after all...

No almostanotherday, I won't!! Shame though was a good name!

Puffpants, was there really any need? You could have just ignored the thread if it didn't meet your standards, or whatever the reason behind the needless negativity was.....
Congratulations Katy, can't wait for my scan, only 3 weeks to go :) lol xx

Thanks Tinky, goodness I was quite shocked by PuffPants post. I know it's a pretty inane message but I feel so happy, I always look at threads like mine as I find them interesting. I feel they must have been reading a different post, either that or I have hit on a sore subject. I think there are some very odd posts on here but that's the point of an open forum?!
Good luck for three weeks xxx

Congratulations, I know what you mean, I had two DDs and 14 years later a DS. It is nice to experience both.

Thanks all.

TBH I would have said it completed my family unit either way as I want to stop at three children!! Isn't it funny how some people seem to read into things in their own 'special' way?!

Congrats Op brilliant news.

I had 2 dss now 21 and 18 then many years later dd age 9.

Its so nice to not be the only femele in the house anymore, we get on great and are friends as well as mum and daughter.
My problem and still is really. I spend so much money on clothes for her, although will admit they are more expensive than boys. Even their hobbies cost twice as much, lol.
Ah, wonderful and if you like pink go for it. My dd is very dark and only suits very bright pink, but she wears it occassionally.

In defence of puffpants I think perhaps she wanted to make sure it was not being said that if Katy had been having a boy, she would be less happy (or perhaps not announcing it in the same way) and in the same vein the inference that it is 'better' to have a child of each sex.

I don't think that Katy was saying that, but just trying to guess what puffpants was thinking.

Awww Katy that's so lovely. I have 3 gorgeous boys and their little sister has just turned 5. I still pinch myself, how happy I am to have them all. Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy Smile

lovely news for you. I have 2 boys and while I am not having another I know if I did conceive a girl I would be esp thrilled. I am convinced I can only carry boys!
