Hi all
Had a tired day yesterday, couldn't wait to get home from work. When I got home and looked down my ankles were swollen, the right one worst than the left. Hadn't experianced it yet and was shocked ha. I'm nearly 32 weeks.....Nothing to worry about unless the swelling starts getting worse is it?! x

Try to keep your feet up wherever possible and sit with them up when you get home. Try propping them on a pillow at night to reduce the swelling. You're correct, not too concerning unless they get worse/don't reduce overnight (I work on my feet all day so have asked my MW about it!).

It's always worth mentioning any extreme swelling to a midwife, just to cover all the bases.

I had the most awful oedema that kept a pitted finger mark in for ages! It spread all up my legs and even onto my lower abdomen, but the didn't worry because my blood pressure was fine and I wasn't getting headaches.

I have heard of cases where 'water tablets' are needed to help reduce it, but I am not sure if that's after giving birth rather than during pregnancy.

Probably you'll be advised (as i was) to wear support stockings and drink plenty, keeping your feet elevated as much as possible.

My feet did eventually return to their normal size thoughWink
