Taking Night Nurse at 39 1/2 weeks

I have a cold. I have coughed through the last two nights and am desperate to get some sleep.
Mindful of the warnings on the packaging of Nightnurse I went to see my midwife to get permission to take Night Nurse this close to my due date. She checked the baby and all is fine. She persuaded a GP to slot me in as an extra in the appointments list. The GP listened to my chest - confirmed it's just a common cold and said "You can take Night Nurse, if that's want you want, I can see that you want to sleep."
So having done the responsible thing and got myself checked out I went next door to the pharmacy, where the jobsworth pharmasist refused to sell it to me. I've been fobbed off with a Linctus. I'm feeling savagely angry - since a Linctus will do nothing to knock me out to sleep.

Just having a moan.

Poor you! Either do what above posted suggested or get DH / DP / a friend to go out and get you some.

I feel for you I tried to buy some cream on Sunday for the terrible reaccuring thrush I have been having, both the doctor and the midwife said that I am ok to take it and I was prepared to pay for it myself and NOT bother the doctors by wasting appoinmnet. but No the chemist would not sell it me and actually made me feel bad for daring to ask.
