Pregnancy

Not sure if pregnant?

I have been searching many sites for an answer to my question but only get rude responses. I have 2 children so far. My 1st was a partial healthy pregnancy. I suffered pre-eclampsia but nearly lost my child during delivery due to the hospital giving me too much pethidine (sorry if misspelled). I didn't fall pregnant again until my child was 6 (out of choice). In my 2nd pregnancy 2 days before I conceived (going by due dates) I had surgery on my hand due too a fall. I then didn't find out I was pregnant till I was 12 weeks. I found out as I had very bad abdo pains and bleeding. Gp thought it was ectopic so I was rushed to have a scan. I was told by the hospital that I had a threatened miscarriage. All went well throughout that pregnancy. But I have recently been having ALL the major/minor signs of being pregnant again apart from a positive blood/urine result. As I stated I didn't get any positive result (blood/urine) till I was 12 weeks in my 2nd pregnancy. I am just wondering if any other mums have had this and been pregnant? My gp is sending me for a scan but I just worry that something else is wrong. Any help (non abusive/sarcastic) would be gratefully received.

No idea, a scan will be the only way to find out. Good luck :)

I never had a positive test with my first. Gp did a urine test and felt my abdomen, hospital midwives and gynecologist did urine and blood tests and both external as dd inyernal exams. No baby.

They sent me for a scan. No baby

Lovely pornographer suggested a trans vaginal scan.

And there was dd happy as Larry, oblivious to the confusion she was causing!

Thats ok Tinkypeet and thank you. I am abit weary of asking for help as so many people on other sites have been rude or made accusations that i'm lying. It's nice to find kind people who try to help though :)

SummerRainIsADistantMemory thank you. My 2nd child was the same. No sign on one scan and second time she was there. We originally thought I was about 6 weeks but then the sonographer told us it was 12 weeks. Such a total shock. I just hope that I am this time. Have been trying for the past year.

Whoops... That's what happens when autocorrect and distracted posters combine Blush

Tinky.... My gp was lovely and sent me to the hospital on the basis that if I wasn't pregnant I still needed medical attention as I was piling my guts up.

They said I had a hcg level too low to be carrying a sustainable pregnancy but as it was slightly above zero chances were id miscarried, hence the scan.

It is possible to be pregnant and never have a positive test. I know someone who has 2 kids, did numerous tests right up to 10/12 weeks and never had a second line. Apparently her body does something wierd with the pregnancy hormone so the test doesn't recognise it in her wee.

Hi,

Hope all you ladies are well, please bear with me as this is my first time in a forum so not sure if in right place is, what etiquette is or anything!
I'm hoping you can help, we were planning on starting properly ttc from feb, I'm classed as obese, but exercise regularly and my AF can be timed to the hour!! Anyway, this month I'm 5 days late and I've had two -ve tests. I've had cramps and slight nausea but dunno how much of that is a)psychological and b) the end of the winter vomiting bug? How long do you think I should leave it before testing again? Have many people have had a negative and gone on to be pg? I'm going out my mind!

I n sever got a pos with dd nit did with both boys. My mother only had me but had the same problem, no positive test. I've always wondered I f2f we have some weird genetic response to female babies!

Hi again, Thanks for this Summer, how did you find out you were pregnant? I done one this morning, which both me and DH thought there was the faintest line, but went and bought a digital one and done that this afternoon and that was negative. Argh! So confused! Going to doctors tomorrow, will they be able to test? xxx
