Hi there I am after some advice please, I had a mc naturally on the 19th dec 12 I was 11 weeks but the heartbeat had stopped a week or so earlier the dr said by scan sizes, I did not have any follow up from the dr or hospital so do not know any hormone levels etc.

I have done a cb digital today and it has said 1-2 weeks could this be a new pregnancy as for the last 7-10 days I have felt fine no bleeding symptoms etc. it would also tie in with the first time my partner and I slept together after the mc? Very confused and a little scared as that was my 3 rd mc any advice and help would be much appreciated and thank you in advance!!!

I am 18 weeks and this was also straight after a natural miscarriage (completely unintentionally) at about 8 weeks.
I had a positive pregnancy test for this pregnancy two weeks after the miscarriage and you are more than a month after so maybe it is a current one. Congrats if so and I hope it all goes well for you this time.

That makes me feel better i am just so scared that it is too soon and also don't want to get my hopes up if it is just hormone left from the mc before, to be honest and a bit stupid really I thought it would be too soon to ovulate as I have not had a period yet but you have just given me hope :) and congratulations and good luck xx

I didn't have a period either Lands - docs were annoyed as it makes things tricky until the first dating scan :) They were happy to give me a reassurance scan a few weeks later when there was something to see so might be worth hanging off a week or two so you can be sure before going to see them and asking for the same. Good luck with everything. The first 12 weeks was hard and I was worried it would happen again but I've settled into it now and am not paranoid every time I sneeze :)

I'd go and see you're doctor. I miscarried at 23 weeks, natural birth. Over a month after I still had a positive test and went onto have 2 D&C's due to retained products. It could be a new pregnancy, but its better to get checked out. X

I would either go to the drs or test again in a week.

I tested positive 4 weeks after I mc (missed mc, don't know why I tested tbh)

Hope it's good news for you but best to be checked out. Sorry for your loss too Thanks

Thanks everyone I am going to go and see my go tomorrow as I have not had any aftercare since the mc no scans or anything so going to ask for a scan to make sure everything has gone from the last one and then they might shed a bit of light for me either way, I don't really know why I done the test tbh something just told me to buy it while I was in tesco and certainly did not expect a pregnant 1-2 result bit of a shock just hope if it is good news it is better this time as I have had 3 mc now after 2 healthy babies x

I tested a quite dark posative 3 weeks after loosing a baby at 9wks, so its kind of impossible to say yes or no, sorry:( go see your doc and ask to have hcg levels checked every few days to see if there increasing or decreasing, that should give you a certain result. Good luck xxx

As you've had 3 miscarriages are they not doing recurrent miscarriage tests on you? I had my third on the 18th December and I've got an appointment with the recurrent miscarriage nurse in March..

Hope you get the result you want LandN X

I had blood tests following my mc and it surprised me how long it took for my hormones to go back to normal. Ask the doctor to do some tests for you. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you though. x

Thanks and they have not said anything about any tests they did say if I lost the baby before they removed it to try and take it in so they could test it for any abnormalities but that was impossible and also mentally I could not bring myself to do it and when I asked what they would do if I lost the baby naturally about finding out why they said there was nothing they could do till I fell pregnant again then they would refer me to a consultant and do more scans and bloods for hormone imbalances etc!! Should I be pushing for something I was unaware of???

I would have thought that it was normal for them to give you a scan to ensure that you have passed everything. If your hormone levels don't decrease through blood tests this can show that you have not passed everything yet. Equally the positive test could mean you are pregnant again (fingers crossed for you) x

If you have had 3 mc's you should get recurrent miscarriage testing. If you go onto "body and soul" there's a miscarriage thread which has topics of recurrent miscarriage near the top.

You should defiantly ask your doctor because they may find answers. As its your third you should defiantly get testing, so keep pushing until they give it you.

But if you are pregnant they cant test, if your not they wait three months after your most recent mc so your blood can go back to normal beforehand.

Hope this helps, there's so many tests they can do!

I had a appointment with my gp Monday and he did not really say much he felt my stomach and said I would have fever and be ill by now if there was any retained product from mc, as for it being a new pregnancy I will just have to wait and see, I have been feeling very sick in the mornings (like before) and keep getting headaches so I am none the wiser and according to him need to wait a week or so and do another test and see what the result is.
I have done about 3 more normal ( not digital) tests but keep getting a very very faint blue line.

I am very confused and frustrated ATM as I don't know how to feel :( or :) xx

Well the dr wasn't much help!

I'm sure he could have arranged blood tests to see if your hg levels are rising.....

Anyway, fingers crossed for you Lands. Hope you get done positive news, let us know how things go.

2 of my pregnancies started with a very faint line! But also it took 6 weeks for them to figure out I had retained products.

A line is a line, test in a week to see if its stronger. Fingers crossed Grin

Hello
this is what happened to me. I felt very unwell a few weeks after my 7th mc. Thought it was retained products so trotted off to EPAU where they scanned me in the hunt for leftover bits and there on the screen was a 6 week old baby with a heart pumping away. I was shocked beyond belief!
I'm 36 weeks now. :D
