Just wanted a whine really. Have been ill with some nasty fluey bug for the last week, my chest hurt, now my sinuses are killing me, I spent most of Christmas in bed rather than playing with my kids, and I can't even take anything to make it feel better!
Come & join me.... Especially if you know how to make sinus pain go away so I can go to sleep!

Yes! Have had really nasty cold all over Christmas. Utterly wiped out. Have tried to keep going so as not to have completely miserable Christmas but bouncy DS getting up at 4.30 this morning was the last straw!

Not helped by DH saying "but I'm tired toooooo". Of course you are, dear, but as you're neither ill nor pregnant, some sympathy in my direction wouldn't go amiss!

Hope you feel better soon OP Smile

Me too! My chest muscles hurt from coughing and I'm shattered from the coughing stopping me sleeping.
I usually take codeine linctus if I have a bad cough (it works!) but not alowed sadly. Honey and lemon, lovely thought it is, just doesn't cut it.

I am exhausted. I failed to get the presents out to the cousins before xmas, but fuck it, they'll just have to be understanding (or not?!)

Hope you all feel better soon

Thanks citizen. Sorry you're feeling rubbish too. (although nice to not be the only one!). Dh, to be fair, has been great, but he's now (very deservedly) at the pub & I'm feeling sorry for myself. Can't sleep cos my sinuses hurt too much!
Hope you get a better night's sleep tonight :)

Please, all of you, go to the docs. I felt like this last year. It started Christmas eve and I thought I would get over it. I eventually went to doc beginning of jan, 7 weeks later I still had a chest infection and was incontinent when coughing. Get checked out!

Welcome aufaniae - yes, I thinkit's not being able to take medicine you'd normally take that makes it so much worse. I've been dreaming of night nurse!

I didn't get round to loads of things I'd intended doing - came home sick from work last thurs and have barely made it out of bed since. Various people will hopefully have to be understanding about late presents!

Thanks red - I've booked an appointment for friday. Half thinking i'm overreacting, and fully prepared to be told it's a virus & I'll have to suck it up, but at least I could get signed off work til I'm properly better. Have a feeling it might be a while...

I feel like crap and need to rant so bad.

My throat feels like a razor is constantly being scraped along it, my nose is blocked and not to mention the vomiting MS. I hate the weird hungry/queasy feeling in my stomach, especially when all I want to do is puke at the sight of food. I'm that emotionally and physically exhausted, I have no energy to get out of the bed.

My rant? Why are people not sympathetic at all?!?! I'm sick of fiance's family barging into my room and giving me a grill on how unhealthy it is to stay in bed. I'm sick of the looks and the snide comments and my fiance's mother telling me that I need to do this and that and this and that. They smoke, downstairs if full of animals.

My room is my clean and safe haven 'till I move out!

Is it such a crime? Pretty sure my baby is enjoying the relaxation too. :)

In bed with tummy bug (ie bad diarrhea) haven't eaten anything since yesterday morning except one piece of dry toast. Feeling rotten and guilty about all the lovely food in fridge that won't be eaten before it goes off.

24wks pregnant and have a cold too. Only good thing is relatives are here to help dh look after the dcs (19mths and 3).

Sympathy to anyone else pregnant and ill, it really is crap

Yes! Feeling rotten, baking, throat huge, coughing, headache. My poor immune system is taking a bashing.
Just tried a lovely thing though - fresh ginger, lemon and honey with hot water. God it's good

Yep! After 20 weeks of bad morning sickness, I had a few days respite before starting with norovirus.. lovely!

Still feeling rough but improving slowly. DH has now taken to bed with vomiting (poss food poisoning) so I'm now the "well" one & doing all childcare. Fun fun!

Hope you're all on the mend soon.

Yup got a stinking cold. Been powering through (had to work over Christmas!) but called in sick today because I now have terrible earache. I am taking paracetamol and codiene but its wearing off after two hours. I'm in agony :( got a doctors appointment at 3.50 to check its not an ear infection. Don't want to leave it if it is.

Best think to help sinus issues is steam inhalation. Full 10 minutes under!

Sinus pain: steam yourself with olbas oil. It does say consult doctor etc in pregnancy but I was desperate and didn't see what harm a bit of eucalyptus steam would do me? I didn't apply it directly to my skin or anything though.

Wow, lots of replies. Sorry to hear so many others are poorly too.
10storey I had the same experience in a previous pg - so rubbish finally stopping throwing up, only to get sick again :(.
I'm finally feeling better, although not up to doing a great deal & still coughing a fair bit. But at least I've stopped feeling so miserable - hope everyone else is improving too... And sympathy to everyone feeling rubbish
