Hi I'm new here and this is my first pregnancy. I started having period like pain a week before I was due and did a pregnancy test 2 days early positive :) this was 16 days ago now n I still have the cramps and constant pressure and sharp pains on and off on my right side! Doc has said she wants to keep an eye on me and I'm really worried! Anyone else experienced this?
Many thanks

I had pain on one side in the early weeks, like a cramp type pain. Found out that's pretty normal as the ovary that produced the lucky egg produces hormones early on.

It was a dull pain though, definitely not sharp/stabbing, so it's probably a god thing the doctor is keeping an eye on you. Try not to worry though, it could be totally normal!

I had pains and was told it was ligament stretching - that was at about 5/6 weeks. I'm at 8 now and saw the heartbeat on an early scan last week so I know the bean is doing ok in there?
Better safe than sorry in getting checked out but I'm sure it'll be fine
Good luck x

Thank you all so much for your replys, makes me feel a lot better. I had a good day yesterday no sharp pain but still feel pressure, hopefully just stretching. I have always suffered with bad period pain and also can have horrific ovulation pain so maybe I just feel everything down there!! Great! Ha thanks again everyone x

I had sharp pains and was convinced I was having ectopic again but it was fine. I had an ectopic in June and from my experience, once you start having pain from ectopic it just gets worse and worse and doesn't go away - it is very intense, I even threw up and passed out from the pain. Once you have pain with ectopic it is pretty serious. I'm trying to put your mind at rest - if it is coming and going it is most likely just streching xxxx

Thanks Sugarplumshirl and in sorry to hear about your experience. I've not had too good a day today constant dull ache and a few (4sharp bursts) just can't rest so going to ask doc to do some blood tests and hopefully book me in for an early scan when I'm 6 weeks. It's all on one side just doesn't seem right, but maybe that's me just being a worrier. I hope so
Thanks again x

I'd really like to know the outcome as I am very anxious to be having the same symptoms. Did you have a healthy pregnancy in the end? X

I had really sharp pains in one side and really painful cramping, so much so I took myself to hospital but they were totally useless and I left in tears!

I'm now 19 weeks and everything is going well

Wow we’re the same amount of weeks! Congratulations ☺️ I checked this site cause I’ve been having the same pains. Doctors appoint isn’t until May 8th. I’m happy to see it’s common. Blessing to you

My telephone appointment ain't until 13th may but I did asked the midwife and she said the only time you should worry is when you are doubling up in pain and bleeding really heavy

So pleased to see this thread as I'm having the same. Just little niggly pains in my right side, but also mild cramping on both sides, off and on. Just WISH 12 weeks would hurry up and get here, another 6.5 to go till then! X

I recently had 2 pregnancies back to back and experienced pain on my right side. Turned out I had an inflamed gallbladder, gallstones and a blocked bile duct. I'm now on the waiting list to have my gallbladder removed.

Hi @Harmony24
I had this on my left side, it was a full ache and want going away.
Had a scan at the EPU and they said it’s probably the side from which I ovulated, I’m 23 weeks now.

All the best x

I also had this from about 6 weeks, always on left side though, but apparently where baby is? I still get it from time to time, and I'm now 13+5, midwife said not to worry as its stretching and things moving about xx
