Hi!
39 + 3 and while I'm excited to meet our new baby(our 3rd) I'm really not that impatient. I have spd which I will be glad to get rid of, Dd & I have been more or less stuck in the house the past few weeks as walking really hurts. Went to a party yesterday and everyone was saying how I must be desperate to get baby out as I look in so much pain. I'd actually like to go a bit overdue as it would be more convenient, I know I don't get a choice but Sunday would be my ideal day ;). I'm not sure exactly why I feel like this, maybe because the 2 I have are keeping me occupied, or maybe because I know they're easier to look after while still curled up inside my tummy ;). Anyone else not desperate for baby to be born?

Yes, me! I'm 40+1 and still really enjoying being pregnant smile This is our DC3 too, and will be our last one so I'm savouring the last few days of having a lovely wriggly baby in my tummy! However, I mentioned this elsewhere on this forum and killed the thread, so I don't think that this is a particularly popular view... Obviously I'm really looking forward to meeting baby and having lovely squidgy newborn cuddles, but until baby is ready to meet all of us I am just enjoying having quality time with my little girls.

Good luck with the SPD - I hope it gets better very quickly after your baby arrives smile

A few weeks ago I was DESPERATE to get baby out.

Now at 38 weeks I'm actually happy (mostly) to bide my time. Also 3rd and don't plan to do it again, so last days/weeks with a bump. Aware how much easier baby is inside than out, no nappies or feeds. Enjoying last bits of time to myself while other two at school/nursery. Won't be so easy to meet friends for coffee, go for a swim, waddle round shops once baby is here.

All that said I'm keen to meet baby, fed up of other people's comments ("have you not had that baby yet?" etc) and slightly afraid that the longer it is in there the BIGGER it is getting.....

More chilled mummys! smile But monkey3 you're overdue, apparently its law that you're desperate to have baby by now ;). I know what you mean, its also our last, makes you more aware to enjoy it. My 2 year old keeps stroking my bump, adorable!
My mother keeps starting every conversation asking if I'm having contractions yet too. Ready for killing her because its been going on for 2 weeks now!!!

This time last year i was pg and really enjoying my pregnancy. Other mums-to- be i knew were desperate for their babies to arrive, i was happy as i was, then...i went into premature labour and had my baby at 36 wks, he was happy and healthy, but i was gutted i didn't see it through to the end, i felt a bit cheated. But i suppose if i was overdue my mood probably would of been different.

Enjoy your pregnancies ladies, babies will soon be here grin

I'm only 30 weeks but the time seems to be going far to fast and I'm in no rush to get to 40 weeks. It's ds4 and I think it's because I know that when he is born the hard work will actually begin.

Oh no, I bet you did feel cheated, least you had a happy healthy little guy though. Consultant wanted to induce me a couple of weeks ago because baby is measuring small, not small in the size of average babys, just smaller than my others, I declined as I don't think that's a good enough reason but I think I'd have felt cheated then too! DH def would, he doesn't seem to be ready yet, he was extremely annoyed at how induction happy she was! Haha.
PGs when you already have DC go so much faster don't they dinosaurs, its so much easier when they're inside, not wanting to be fed every hour & having exploding nappys at the most inappropriate times! ;)

Babys I feel the same too and am holding out for a verrryyy long pg this time. Last time I said the fatal words 'I can't wait to see my little baby'...sure enough he came early. This time, no wishing away the days. This will in all likelihood be my last too, so I really want to get fat like a great big pregnant cow, enjoy stuffing what I like and all the awkward little positions and kicks baby-to-be gets into. Great stuff.

Yes, me! Pg with dc5 and loving it! I went nine days over with dc3 and just felt so mellow but excited at the same time. It felt like constant christmas eve. I felt really cheated when dc4 was premature because of pre eclampsia! Grateful we were both safe if course, I didn't mean to sound so ungrateful.

Me too! I'm 34 weeks with DD2 & it seems to have gone so fast!
I actually love being pregnant.

SilentMammoth, constant Christmas Eve is a lovely way of describing it! With DD2 I went a week overdue and was getting pretty grumpy about it, but it was July and I was too hot and bothered all the time. This time I'm still pretty comfortable (apart from aching by the evening from running around after DD1+2 all day) so it's easier to enjoy it!

Mummyof3 -I agree that the fact that baby is still getting bigger is the slightly worrying bit... Despite the fact that my bump constantly measured small, DD2 was 9lbs 11oz and arrived in under three hours start to finish, so I'm a bit worried that this one might well be 10lbs+ as I'm actually measuring correctly this time! confused

Wishing you all lots more lovely chilled-out time with wriggly baby bumps smile
