36 weeks and just want to sleep!!(22 Posts)
Even though have had a quiet weekend I'm absolutely floored. Any-one else feel like they're under sedation? At my toddler's nap time just now, she stayed awake and I feel asleep on her bedroom floor- she put her lullaby music on for me and let me sleep whilst she played in her cot, gently waking me up after half an hour.
Now that's not right??
35 weeks and feeling the same. I had a brief flurry of activity this morning in which I did two loads of washing, and put away waitrose delivery.
THAT IS IT
I have been sitting on my arse the rest of the morning.
Your DD sounds very sweet by the way!
Ah Terrywogan- my all time favourite dj. Sitting on your arse sounds bloody lovely. Let me know if it actually works, Ill try and schedule a little more of that into the day if it does.
Daughter is a gentle soul, she woke me up by whispering "Mummy; parK" until I woke up.
Dear God I can't imagine another few weeks of this can you?? Well done for getting the washing done and shop put away. Not a bad morning's work.
I'm thinking of packing my labour bag later, but might try and have a sleep as I have to take DD to ballet in the next town at 4.30, and wait there for an hour before driving back
Was going to make a lasagne for the freezer but unsure that's going to happen now!
DP is home from work early today though so might try and persuade him to do the ballet run <unlikely scenario>
OP, your DD is adorable!
I'm usually a really sociable person btu at the moment I can't deal with visitors and if I'm out I want to be home by 6pm. I'm exhausted all the time! I'm also 36 weeks and thankfully now LO is listening to me and allowing me to sleep a bit longer through the night, needing only one toilet trip. Lets see what happens when he/she arrives...
Hi ladies- thanks she has her moments but is an empathetic 2 year old luckily and seems to understand. A funny thing has happened this afternoon, whilst lolling around on the sitting room floor reading to my daughter the baby moved position (think was back to back) and I feel 1000% better like I can even breath!
Weird. I feel much better though. Either of yours back to back?
36 weeks here and exhausted! I spend most of my day sat on my arse or my spd plays up. My poor ds of 14 months has learnt to bring toys over to me so I can play with him.
Doesn't help that my dh has been away with work for 3 weeks now and ds has been very ill for most of that, meaning multiple night wakings and vomit galore. I'm actually looking forward to the newborn stage!
Glad it's not just mean who's finding it so tiring. Hope it gets better for all of us.
Not back to back here, but that sounds positive, op.
Your dd sounds lovely. I feel a lot better now baby has moved down a bit. Glad your LO is letting you be more comfy.
I'm completely exhausted though as cant sleep. 37+1 today, induction booked for 39+5 if baby hasn't made an appearance before then so 18 days at most.
I hope you're feeling better soon.
Your DD sounds adorable!
I'm 38w tomorrow and am totally whacked - 1st day of maternity leave today and feel like I have loads still to do (which I don't! I'm just panicking!)
Fall asleep really well then usually wide awake at 4am - been like this for weeks!
Couldn't imagine having a LO to look after as well as being pg!
My LO has been back to back but keeps flipping round, squirming about all the time! Is very low down too so at least I can breathe again!
I'm only 30 weeks and I feel like this! Within 2 hours of getting up in the morning I'm ready for bed again. Utter exhaustion. I just scant see how I'm going to get through the next 10 weeks, I'm a wreck! And I wish my toddler was as thoughtful as yours OP! Hoping some iron supplements might make me feel a bit more human soon.
I hear you. You will get through the next few weeks, I worked feeling like this up until 3 weeks ago when I had to wave the white flag and admit defeat. Have an exit strategy should it all get too much but don't panic, 2nd time round it goes really quickly. Bloody hormones.
Terry- how I miss Terry Wogan! Yeah mine seems like its flipping around like a massive boulder moving about and the whole stomach changes shape. I'm currently typing all fours trying to keep the little blighter there over-night so the back doesn't play up. Unfortunately it's not socially acceptable to crawl every-where else I would for the next few weeks just to feel a bit better!!
Well I am sitting tailor style trying not to think about my poorly rib. Better than lounging on sofa but baby still back to back just now as i can feel a small foot by my belly button, so may have to resort to all fours in a minute!
DP has just gone out for pizza- second night on the run for me as I discovered Dominos did gluten free last night when in on own with DD and ever since I told him this morning he has been jealous and unable to think of anything else (both coeliacs, its been YEARS since we could get a takeaway pizza!)
I will blame baby for wanting pizza again.
Any excuse for a pizza Terry. Feel devastated for you that it's been years. What a revelation to have that back in your life again, something to perk you up. Try living out in the sticks- same effect as coeliacs. Would you believe I've never had a Dominos!!!
My tack this evening has been to eat the whole house, pushing the baby downwards, squashing into it's new position so it can't spin around again.
Hope we all have a good sleep!!
How do y'all know what position your LO is in?! I feel mine move - and see my tummy changing shape ALL THE TIME (currently 34+1 weeks) but I have no clue what position he's in or how to move him!
Yes to the exhaustion btw, counting down to ML - 3 more weeks to go, 2 if I can't hack it!!
36+2 here and utterly exhausted too. I could literally sleep all day, get up and have dinner and go back to bed around 10.30pm!
Baby is head down and in good position, kicks and jabs are very sharp now and actually hurt!
Rockabilly, every time I sat slightly tilted on my back, or on my back I nearly passed out and midwife has confirmed on every visit it's still back to back. It shifted so I could see it's bum on my right side- really wonky and felt my blood pressure come back. It's like a bum almost poking out of my belly!
My first pregnancy I remember the kicking was totally different to this one. You're right though it will flip around again hopefully especially as it's on it's side now.
You've made my day! Sorry - this is going off topic somewhat but Dominoes do gluten free pizza - wow! I just assumed they wouldn't. 34+5 here and knackered. Nearly 5yr old DD not as sympathetic to rest time as your gorgeous LO. DP sneaks out for pizza sometimes (can't rely on me to cook these days!) and all I can do is inhale deeply at the wonderful smell. I'll be looking into that. Hope all Dominoes offer it. Havnt had takeaway pizza in years!
Pol- they only started doing it a couple of weeks ago <finger on the pulse, me>
too -- much-- time on my hands
They're really nice, all stores do it and its accredited by Coeliac UK so all staff have been trained in cross contamination etc. it's amazing.
I felt sorry for DP though , they actually only do it in a small size base. Now DP is a strapping 6'4" and a hungry man, I assured him I would only be able to eat half of mine so we only ordered one each. I then proceeded to chomp my way through the entire thing while DP muttered that he knew he should have got two and made himself a fishfinger sarnie
Pineapple and Terry- that's brilliant. By far the most constructive point of this thread. Pity they don't do pizza size for the hungrier person. Still, after so long without I bet youd eat a 2" square inch gratefully.
Well I suppose his point was that he would just have ordered two but I insisted he had mine instead. And then ate it all
I was apologising as I ate but i just couldn't stop! he wouldn't have taken it from me unless he could see I was stuffed anyway, he said 'I'm just glad to see you eating something'
I have a lovely DP . I did feel guilty at how nice he was about it though.
