Pregnancy and Coeliac's disease... accidental ingestion of gluten

Hi, was just wondering if there is anyone else who has accidently eaten rather a large quantity of gluten during the later stage of pregnancy (it happened at 35 weeks and im now almost 39 weeks), had symptoms, and everything has been ok with baby in the end. I have been told its not going to effect him, only me but still can't help but be a little concerned.

It has been well controlled during the rest of my pregnancy and I take a pregnancy safe multi-vit every day to ensure my vitamin levels are kept normal (as I have been vitamin/ mineral deficiant before)

Since accidently eaten gluten I have been having problems which have lead us to have to go to hospital a few times with pains that I couldnt explain (didnt realise I had eaten anything for 4-5 days and in the mean time was doubled over in pain) and constant bone pain.

My current symptoms (3 weeks on) are still some skin irritation and the worsening of another condition I have which causes my immune system to release histamine innappropriatly, and baby having 3 days of being quiet (ending in monitoring and another scan- everything was fine with both and he seems back to normal movement at the moment). The hospital have been great but dont really seem to be able to answer my concerns.

Thankyou for any advice/ stories in advance.

Hi soontobeafirsttimemom,
I know this isn't exactly what you were looking for but i hope this can give you some reassurance. My mum was an undiagnosed coeliac with all the symptoms whilst pregnant with myself and my brother. She was only diagnosed shortly following my brothers birth. Needless to say she ate lots of wheat and without the vitamins we now know to take without knowing any better. Myself and my brother were fine, a little underweight but with no health issues.

All the best x
