Is it normal to feel this rubbish in the third trimester? Or could it be something else?

Sorry, I'm whingeing I know. But the last few days I've felt really, really poorly and I'm struggling to do anything, even going to get basics from the shops and feeding the pets and so on.

I'm 30 weeks. Apparently I'm low on iron, hb is 8.7, but it's been lower with previous pregnancies and I didn't feel this terrible. So I don't know if it's that.

I'm taking iron now and that's also making me feel rubbish I think? - not the tablets but the syrup stuff, and also spatone. I don't know how much of it is that tbh.

I'm quite tired, and feel very weak - any sort of getting up and walking around is painful, my muscles are all aching especially the bump related ones, also I keep getting leg cramps and sciatic pain on and off.

Lots of pressure lower down - feels like the baby is 'engaged' though he is my third so I know that's kind of irrelevant!

but also I keep getting that kind of clammy, 'cold sweat' feeling, which I wonder if it might be the anaemia. Like I can't regulate my temperature, can't get warm, everything feels wrong like I'm not quite here.

And I'm getting very faint and dizzy on and off, and shaky, and shivery. I don't have a temperature though afaik. I just feel like I'm ill, but without an illness iykwim?

It's horrid, it's half term and my poor boys have not been out anywhere nice, most days we have not even gone outside all day.

I'm worried I'll fall over in a shop or something, it hurts so much to walk and the dizzy thing as well - but mostly, I just want to know why I feel so crap, because I'm scared it means something is really wrong and I don't know what.

Also I have no appetite, feel quite nauseous on and off (again) and nothing tastes right.

Sorry to moan. But is it possible this might be something else, and should I get checked out? I don't want to bother anyone if it's likely just to be the iron iyswim

Thankyou

I had very high blood pressure in my last trimester and I just felt godawful. I also had low iron, and was put on tablets. It crept up on me gradually, and by the time I had DS I didn't realise how rubbish I felt. To put it into context, I was induced, was in labour for 60+ hours, no sleep for 3 days, ended up with a crash section and pneumonia and I STILL felt better than I did when I was pregnant. Go and see the dr tomorrow to put your mind at rest. Hope you feel better soon.

Could be anaemia?

I felt crushingly exhausted (having to psyche myself up for half an hour just to get in the shower, feeling too tired to eat or sit at the table, be out of breath for 10 mins after walking DOWN the stairs etc) for a week or so and while I don't know for sure if it was the anaemia, it improved substantially a few days after I started taking hardcore iron tabs from the midwife. The liquid stuff isn't nearly as strong. May be worth a try...

Anaemia can really knock you for six, I couldn't get out of bed for a week. But you should get checked out, if you're worried.

I could of wrote your post last week, i fainted when i got out the shower so got taken to the maternity unit.

All my levels were fine and the Dr diagnosed a viral infection causing me to be really drained, have you had a cold lately? apparently the cold /flu bugs going around are really knocking people for six and lasting weeks.

P.s have you had your urine checked? water infections cab wreak havoc!

I felt similar a few weekends ago, was worried I was starting 3rd trimester and that was going to be it for the rest of my pregnancy, basically sleeping all the time, I got up and ready for work, ate my cereal and slept with my head on the dining table for another 2 hrs!! Also same dizziness as if I was drunk and the room was spinning. Docs said it was a virus, and thankfully after 3 days and lots of sleeping and lounging around I felt much better. Also one of the girls (not preggers) has had similar last week too hopefully yours will pass if you rest smile

Thankyou guys for all the suggestions, and sorry to post and disappear. I'm not sure what it is still - ended up being told by MW to go to A&E because of the breathlessness and the legs thing.

And they tried to keep me in, though I came home last night after an ECG and some bloods (like I can spare any) grin

So I might start a thread about DVT because that's what they think it might be. But I hope it's not.

Probably is just the anaemia imo, I'm glad to hear it can make you feel this lousy.

Thanks again x

Low iron and low blood pressure in third trimester made me feel worse than at any other stage. Not a patch on you, tho, you poor thing. Lots of juice and fluids were recommended for blood pressure. That and gentle iron tablets helped ...
